In the age of filters and Photoshop, I was surprised to see someone achieving drastic transformations of appearance using just the power of makeup. Meet Charlotte Roberts, an 18-year-old who refutes the idea that makeup is meant to only subtly highlight someone’s features. The characters Charlotte has turned herself into include Voldemort and Bellatrix from the Harry Potter series, girls from Monster High as well as celebrities like Lady Gaga and David Bowie. What unites all of these transformations is the fact that you can clearly tell Charlotte gravitates towards a rather spooky, moody aesthetic.

In a previous interview with Bored Panda, Charlotte expressed that her sister really inspired her to start doing makeup as they had always done arts and crafts together. Also, watching a lot of YouTube makeup tutorials made her want to learn how to do makeup professionally.

Just the power of makeup? Sure, for some of them, but it's pretty obvious that there is some heavy photoshopping going on in some of them as well. I applaud the creativity and the skill, but let's not pretend something is what it's not.
