All these women are beautiful anyway. Why can’t that be the message? Why send the massage that they can only be queens under layers of make up? How is that any different to photo filters and photoshop?
I think a good takeaway from this article is that the women we see on TV and in magazines are subject to this sort of makeup and hair treatment all the time. "Normal" women feel bad for not looking that way, but in reality, it takes a team of professionals to get someone looking that gorgeous most of the time. It honestly makes me feel good looking at these photos, because it reveals the facade that the beauty industry really is.
Load More Replies...This article title is misleading, it is not just hairstyles but a whole bloody makeover. Some even look like they have had nose jobs, lip fillers and Botox etc. This is not empowering. This is telling women that you have to transform your whole self to be considered beautiful.
Indeed, many of them had nose jobs, breast augmentation, teeth. Botox and fillers too.
Load More Replies...She looks happier in the second picture! You can tell this boosted her confidence. That's all that matters.
Yeah, let's take away her individuality and make her look the same as everyone else. No thanks
Right because “cyberpunk goth” is SOOOOO original. She came up with that look on her own. /s
Load More Replies...I love dreads, but Holy Cow! That is an amazing transformation!
these are all obviously photoshopped since they have taken away moles and freckles on the neck and chest. Made breasts larger or lifted in some case. not accurate at all.
Hmmm, didn't realize the "Transformation" includes the background change. Does she really have makeup/coverage all the way down to her bodice? Seems like a LIE when only the transformation photo is Photoshopped.
totally.. if the before pic had the same lighting it would be same same ;)
Load More Replies...I'm thinking, all she needed was to smile and change the background. The first photo looks like a "mug shot".
looks like someone got her a well-fitting bra (notice the underwire poking up in the middle in the 'before' shot). that'll go miles towards helping her with any esteem issues, as well as simply feeling better.
many of these are photoshopped, they have taken off moles and removed freckles from the neck and chest. Some of them have larger or lifted breasts, completely different skin tone on their bodies from the before. Yes some of it is lighting but a lot of it is photoediting.
I like tht she still looks like herself and not like a totally different person.
Yes, with the pretty make-up job, I would have liked to see something creative and lovely done with her natural long hair.
Load More Replies...Her makeup looks great, but I'm gonna risk ridicule to express my screaming dislike of this hair cut. She had healthy, natural, versatile, low maintenance long hair. The possibilities were practically endless. Which is why his choice is hard to believe. He gave her a single-style, HIGH maintenance haircut that is an awkward length and texture, with expensive highlights which will need to be reapplied monthly, in a several hour process. Not sure if the loose beach waves are her own hair texture, but it seriously looks like she has a coating of sticky hairspray over the whole razor-cut disaster. This is an example of how years of great haircare can wash down the drain in one afternoon, when your stylist cares more about your "transformation" and their own portfolio than your hair and needs.
I definitely agree with a lot of what you said but I do like her new part. I am a side parter though.. cannot pull off any other part. She also might have wanted lighter hair, but yes that’s a lot of upkeep. The copper in my (naturally) darker hair blends well enough so I don’t go NEARLY as often as other women to get touch ups. By design and my nature to not spend!! It was probably about a year before another cut and copper added. I also love being able to braid mine and can’t pull of shorter hair. So yes I agree lol
Load More Replies...The only one that didn't go crazy on the makeup and hair. Such a great cut for her face frame! And natural beauty.
At least this one looks real, not like it was accomplish with photo filters.
I actually think there IS some photoshopping going on on these, something not quite right about the face on either photo.
Load More Replies...Beautiful girl, excellent hair, there is usually a time to cut very long hair !!!
ooh she's been robbed of all personality here, she looks all sweet and country in the first, a total internet bot in the second.
I like her better in the first. More interesting, unique, and human.
Load More Replies...Just because you're pretty and like to stay on trend doesn't mean you don't have personality. Still the same person, just coz she put on makeup doesn't suddenly make her vain and empty >:(
Let these f*****g losers think that way. “She has no personality,” they say, as they all obsess over Disney, Star Wars and the rockabilly and/or goth look that everyone carbon copies since 1985.
Load More Replies...She can have both looks -- "before" just hangin' out and being naturally who she is, and "after" primping up and goin' out on the town. She can be whatever she wants.
Why in the before photo, must the girls look like they are about to be shot ???
This one‘s all right. She looks still like herself in the right picture at least (though the change of hair colour was not necessary in my opinion).
ok literally all she had to do was smile more and open her eyes a bit. You dont need to spend a s**t ton of money on makeup and hairstyling when minor expression changes can make you just as beautiful
Nah better bra probably feels much better too Never underestimate the power of a good bra
Definitely. With the right bra, I look like I actually have boobs.
Load More Replies...That makeover must have taken a really long time for her hair to grow several inches.
honestly it looks like they photoshopped someone else's hair onto her head.
This is definitely her red. She also has great brows! Also, I hate to be that person but smiling/seeming happy are helpful. But don’t think it isn’t okay to not be happy all the time.
New hair, new boobs and she obviously quit telling lies because her nose even got smaller.
Nose is the same size, they just used makeup contouring tricks to make it seem smaller.
Load More Replies...Very lovely lady. Some sun damage, but still pretty. Make up evens out the skin tone for special occasions.
this one is first I see so far with great improvement by underlining her features and not ridding of them totally
The snow white look wasn't really working for her anymore. She looks more modern now.
Yeah, little softer color on the brows is definitely a good look for her.
Load More Replies...Those "before" eyebrows were really bad. The new makeup is softer, not so harsh.
I wish they were smiling in the before photos. I think the difference wouldn't be as great then and you'd be comparing the same face.
During the transformation, dentists and psychologists work with them. Perhaps they do not smile at the photo before because they are sad and they do not have very good teeth.
Load More Replies...yeah.. why is it that most "before" photos look serious.. were they supposed to be that way?
Yup, get rid of the bra straps, smile and change the backdrop. . . HATE that choppy hairstyle. Hasn't that "unflattering fad" run it's course?
The dress in the after photo reminds me of something that Carrie Bradshaw (Sex in the City) would wear. These women all have gorgeous bone structures- I'm not a fan of heavy makeup for everyday, but special occasions it's appropriate. Even so, most of the makeup here looks tasteful and the haircuts are complimentary. (I'd even go to these stylists for a makeover if I had a big event- but only if they'd keep my hair mint green, which I love)
This is annoying. Take your glasses off and suddenly you're beautiful. They do it in films all the time.
It's annoying how they all have to have cleavage showing dresses to be transformed.
Load More Replies...Is it just me or does it seem like they are using photoshop onto of the 'after' pics? Or it's a lot of makeup. They are beautiful either way but if you're going to do before and after pics, they shouldn't be altered with photoshop.
To be fair, if you choose the right glasses that complements your face, glasses can actually be a better look.
Very pretty, straight black hair works for very few women !!!
I love how the boat neck softens the look, the lighter brows and hair gives her a more "approachable" look
It's still there. It's just covered by foundation and concealer
Load More Replies...Beautiful but a touch too much eyeliner in the second pic, she looks terrified
Stunning! A beautiful canvas to begin with. The enhancements add to a beautiful look! 💖
Righty doesn't look like the same person. It's looks like Katy Witherspoon.
Load More Replies...Is it really the same person?? The first she has a long face and the after photo her face looks more rounded.
Did she truly go out in public with those side-ways apostrophes on her forehead?
I like her new do though! Makes her look a bit younger and happier!
Load More Replies...I love the way he takes the women,s facial bone structure into account before he makes the final cut .
How can you take away someone's personality by changing their looks?
Load More Replies...I like how this one actually seems like the same girl. Different hair and a little pampering is all
Obliviously none of you have ever watched a YouTube tutorial on makeup and contouring. It's her with makeup! it's amazing what you can do with it.
I agree most of these changes are done by makeup...also, I would like to see them in like everyday life when they did their own hair and makeup
Load More Replies...Th er e is for sure some photoshopping going on here, her ears are totally different. But the hair is cute which i guess is what the post was about.
Such a different look, much makeup with much contouring, not something a girl would, or could do daily, but still pretty !!!
Yup, even Photoshopped the armpit! Getting rid of the holes in earlobes is a definite improvement.
I think that she actually looked better in before picture. New hair is kinda wig-y
Load More Replies...for a lot of these, I don't really like that they have them wear makeup in the 2nd photo.
Don't agree with the "blonde" hair color or the upper lip liner. Also, not sure red is her color. I think this could have been done better. Maybe it is the "choppy" haircut again - why?
Healthy, comely face to work with, I would think. Make-up enhances most everyone.
Get rid of those slave rings in your nose and voila immediate improvement
From goth chick to Disney Princess?!?! Wow! OK. Would have been nice if they kept SOME of her personality. She looks happy, though, so that's all that matters.
This is a perfect example of how the entertainment machine has a very narrow view of what beauty is. They took a lovely young woman and turned her into a game show vixen. What's wrong with natural beauty?
She's super cute in the first one; no need for the after. The makeup covers all her freckles and I don't prefer the pasty smooth skin look they have in the second. All I have to say is that if she were smiling more in the first pic it would easily show it's better than the second.
LOVE the before. Not so much the after, unless she's going to a costume party.
I think they did make the most of her curls, not every frizzy haired person has ringlets, some have waves .. her hair look much healthier.
Load More Replies...Wow, this is the first one where they've actually kept the clothes they were wearing in the first pic.
she looked so pretty & vivacious & special in the "before" picture. I mean, sure, maybe she needed some conditioner--or maybe it was just really humid that day. :(
Lots of improvement here...if this is not permanent it should be she lost over 20 years
I think these are obviously done by different people or companies. Some have the tag @на10летмоложе, where they look like different people entirely. Some have that ridiculously colorful background, crazy amounts of makeup, using Facetune, and skimpy clothing. And then there's ones like this that honestly look like they just gave the women nice hairstyles and maybe a little makeup refresher for the photo (or maybe the women did it themselves even, I know I always touch mine up before my stylist takes their "after" shots of me lol)
Load More Replies...Helena Rubinstein said, no such thing as an ugly woman, only a lazy one. I truly beleive that. These make overs are fantastic.
I liked the before better. I was getting a Sophie Turner vibe a bit
I actually don't mind this one. Her expression still looks like a real person in the second pic and not a fembot. I'd be fine going home with righty and waking up with lefty.
Ignoring the horrible second half of you comment, I have a problem with this because it would take something crazy to get someone that wears that sweatshirt, NO THANKS in a frowny face?, to wear something all pretty and cute while smiling like a Stepford wife!!
Load More Replies...back. away. from the highlighting and strobing and baking and whatnot, mister.
Eh, photo "before" is done in bad lighting and it looks like photo for driver's licence, and also, they all look grimm on these photos. On "after" they all smile, look happy, have tone of make up and photo looks professional. So, not really. Sorry.
i know .. the article should say "What smiling, make up and professional lighting can do for your looks!" lol
Load More Replies...WHAT A BS! Photos before: bad lighting, little or no makeup, sad faces. After: tons of makeup, tons of photoshop/editing, smiles, better angles.
"The boost in one's self-esteem from a good haircut or a nice outfit cannot be underestimated. " Plus loads of make up to make women look like they are on the cover of a fashion magazine. Basically he's doing the same as all those snapchat filters and photoshoppers.
All these women are beautiful anyway. Why can’t that be the message? Why send the massage that they can only be queens under layers of make up? How is that any different to photo filters and photoshop?
“All these women are beautiful anyway.” That may be the case, but that doesn’t mean that there is no room for improvement. Also some of these women were wearing makeup before, they were just doing wrong.
Load More Replies...This article title is misleading, it is not just hairstyles but a whole bloody makeover. Some even look like they have had nose jobs, lip fillers and Botox. This is not empowering. This is telling women that you have to transform your whole self to be considered beautiful.
They need us to spent a lot of money, that's the message :-/
Load More Replies...I actually prefer, in most cases, the "original" version! tons of makeup (I'm not anti makup, I do wear it) and photoshop and they all look the same, and fake!
Articles like this one are just depressing. Most of the before pictures are lovely, these women were already beautiful. I personally hate the heavy make-up look. It's like women are not allowed to be seen as beautiful without ten layers of make-up any more.
Yeah, this post is just making me feel sad for these women.
Load More Replies...So makeup, new clothes, better lighting, better environment can change how you look? Who knew?
Did they mean to say what difference a make up artist can do? Sheesh. So much makeup. Be more natural ladies. You are beautiful.
