This Guy's Joke Sends A Girl He Likes To Hospital And He Almost Loses His Job

Ah, romance is such a sweet word, especially at the times when every other person claims that love is dead. Most of us have been through it… the shy glances when your crush walks past, the way your heart lights up when you see their smile, and the sweet dreams of one day finding the courage to confess your feelings. Of course, it would be optimal to do that before your crush ends up in hospital. Because of you. Well, one Reddit user ran out of luck when he decided to tell a joke to a girl he liked. What at first seemed like her laughing at the quip a little too long soon turned into a nightmare as the woman collapsed to the floor, struggling for air. And then, to make the matters worse, the manager walked in! What’s the saying? “When it rains, it pours”? Seems fitting! Scroll down to read the full story below and tell us what you think in the comments!

Update: Apparently the guy asked the girl out and now they are dating! (Facebook cover image: Armistead Booker)

Everyone saying you shouldn't joke too much with asthmatics, or that they don't laugh often or hard: you're all on drugs. Not everyone has the same asthma triggers. Laughing is not one of mine.

True. There are many reasons why people have asthma and the most common is just being allergic to something (like dust, mold or pollen) so badly that it makes breathing difficult. That does not prevent making jokes because that laughing is not the trigger that makes breathing difficult.

As an asthmatic, I would like to offer a word of advice: Let co-workers and friends know about your asthma, and where to locate (and how to use) your inhaler. This attack must have been terrifying for her. She might not have survived. :-(

I agree - I let my coworkers know about my asthma just in case. I don't usually have problems but that way they know what's happening if I have an asthma issue.
