I Photograph Luxury Hotels That Were Abandoned After The Yugoslavia War (32 Pics)
I spent a few days this year in Dubrovnik exploring surrounding places and villages, not to capture the beauty of the Adriatic sea, but looking for abandoned places after the conflict in former Yugoslavia. I used just my iPhone to shoot one of the most luxurious hotels in Dubrovnik before the war and other hotels in Kupari only a few minutes from Dubrovnik.
When you’re exploring abandoned hotels in such a touristic location, you realize that the conflict ended just a few years ago (1995). One of the hotels is famous as a film location in Game of Thrones. All these places have a terrific genius loci.
I hope you enjoy my photographs. Vote for your favorite ones and if you want follow me on my social media.

Photos are great. However, I don't like the title. The name the Yugoslav War implies that it was some kind of civil conflict. No, one nation attacked other nation who wanted to exit the federation in peace. This is just propaganda they impose to us and to the world public in order to diminish their aggressive role in the war. And that's a fact. And now you will see Serbian pandas attacking me on this issue 🤷♀️ because their government is still lying to them...
Nice photos, but poor places. It would be nice if they were restored to their formal glory. 😊
This is so sad, it was such a wonderful place to spend the holiday, what they have lost by all the problems, so very sad.
