Two days ago I lost my guinea pig Archie. He got sick overnight and I took him to the vet to see if she could cure him. A few antibiotic shots later and with some critical care I went back home with Archie. With hope in my heart; I thought he was going to be okay. He died in my arms a few hours later.
The worst is when time has come for a pet to pass on. It's horrible to see them slip away and not being able to do something about it. You feel so powerless.
When a pet dies, people often say: ''just get a new one.'' As many people know, you don't just 'get a new one'. Our beloved pets touch our hearts and each and every animal is unique in their own way. They have their own personality and you love them so much for being silly, sweet or crazy. Even when they make a huge mess or when they pee on you.
Sometimes people think you are or should be over it after a few days or weeks. That's not the case. When animals touched your heart and were a part of your life, there is a high chance you will never get over losing one of your furry babies. You just learn to live without them.

So very sad to hear of your dear pet's passing. God Bless you All. <3 Winnie-The...1972d7.jpg
Sorry for the loss of your "Guin". That's what I always called mine. His name was Oscar and he was also a ginger with a little white on him. Plus he had a little "tag" hanging off his ear, we believe he may have been bitten at the pet store where we "adopted" him. He was a "humper " so he was free, so yes it was an adoption. The funny thing was we set out to get a baby guinea pig but we got a 6 month old boar that we fell in love with instantly- the moment the pet store clerk put him into my arms! xoxo feel better
Great pictures. I am so sorry for your loss. As someone who has many pets over the years (Including my son's very personable and sweet guinea named September), you never get over them, stop missing them or "replace" them, you just learn how to get by without them.
Archie was really cutie ,I see why you miss him ,He was special .Sorry for your loss.
A beautiful tribute. When we lost our little girls it was horrible and we miss them everyday.
I'm so sorry for your loss. He is a beautiful piggy and was/is clearly very loved! What a wonderful life he had with you, and you with him! Rest in peace, sweet Archie <3
The beauty of your photo story is only eclipsed by the beauty of your loving heart.
Im sorry for your loss i just lost my guinea pig. The other day same thing happened to me he died in my arms i miss him so much nibbles was my little buddy
I'm sorry for your loss.As a pet owner I have been in your shoes having lost my Bichon Max 2/10/2012.I know time helps and when you are ready to welcome a new pet they will make your life better. It took me 3 months to find my current Bichon. He IS NOT a replacement in any way, shape,or form. He's actually the complete opposite of Max. Qannik has made my life better and while I will always hold Max in my heart Qannik is my current loving Bichon. I know my life would be too empty without a fur baby in my life.
Your pictures show how much you loved Archie, &, how well you cared for him. It hurts beyond belief when you lose a beloved pet. You may get a new guinea pig, but, the personality won't be the same. You just hope you can grow to love it in a different way for the good traits your new g.p. has.
i am hardcore piggies lover for more than 15 years. they are such sweet and social pets. my baby boy (named Little man) passed last year and even though he's in cucumber heaver, i sometimes still dream of him or think i hear him squeaking sometimes. your boy was truly loved and very photogenic guy <3
I'm so sorry! I hope you find him! These pictures are beautiful by the way!!!!:'(
Seriously,...the feels! the feels! such incredible photography! you should think about how lucky that Guinea pig was to get you as an owner! I'm sure he had a great life!
Sorry for your loss, How old was he? Our Mikey is 6 and a half now and still going strong. They do become a valued family member.
So very sorry for your loss, he was lovely and will always be remembered. Xxxx
Rest in peace lovley guinea pig so beatiful you will make heaven cry of happiness
I know what it feels like. I have had seven guineas which have gone and feel so sorry for you. Hope you are feeling ok. Love the photos, love guineas, although they live short lives, the are my fave animals. At the moment, age 13 we have 4 and chewbacca died recently, 4th of may. Hope you and any other guineas and family are alright. Always remember him.
I'm so very sorry! These photos show how adorable, and how loved, your little piggy was. And so photogenic to boot. My guinea pig - Dexter the Wonder Pig - died suddenly, too. He got really sick, so I took him to an emergency vet. They keep him few days and then they said he was getting better and I could take him home. As I was getting ready to leave, I got a call that he had taken a drastic turn for the worst. It was a long time ago, but it still makes me sad thinking about it...
I am sorry for you loss. I've always wanted a cutie like Archie but they're so small I'm afraid I'd hug or squish one to death. (I like to squish my kittie's fat lumps, but he's big & doesn't care.) I'm glad you've been able to find a creative outlet to express your love for Archie, & to let us appreciate his cuteness.
Aww, I'm so sorry. Anyone can tell that he had a happy life by looking at this post and seeing how much you cared for him. He would thank you for it. Rest in peace
I recently lost my degu, so I know how you feel. It's really painful to lose a small but loving friend. However, remembering all funny and joyful moments you had with your pet somehow relieves the pain slightly. So, my advice is to stick to the happy, rather than the sad memories about Archie. It really helps coping with the loss easier. I hope your little guinea pig is happy where he is now.
