well there are several flaws with prison, such as unsanitary or dangerous living conditions, people being wrongfully jailed, refugees being put in jail and several other problems, although in my opinion i think we just need to fix everything but not abolish it completely, like having good prison healthcare and sanitary living conditions, and better court system so we don't have people being wrongfully jailed. but prisons are there for a reason; to keep us safe so i don't think we should get rid of them completely, just make them better

We like to believe that our prison system is a reformatory one. It should exist to psychologically transform criminals into people who are able to come back to and benefit from the society in which we live. Unfortunately, it does not function that way. There is a long pattern of people being imprisoned for minor crimes and coming out as far more hardened criminals than they were to begin with.

We should be rehibilitating people, not locking them up and throwing away the key
