I am an event and family photographer, but I never pass an opportunity to capture landscape or architecture photos especially when I am traveling.

Few years ago I fell in love with photographing lighthouses while visiting Michigan. A lighthouse in St. Joseph was the first I photographed.

Like any artist, whose passion for a certain subject draws them back to it again and again, I came back to that lighthouse to capture at different time of the year in different weather conditions. I loved seeing how the same object can look impressive in different seasons or time of the day.

As a matter of fact, America is a leader in the number of lighthouses. Lighthouses in America have been compared to what castles are in Europe. It says, a lighthouse is much more than just a monument to keep ships from reefs, islands and other obstacles. Each light has become a symbol of security and safety and are identified with heroism, caring, loyalty.

Another one I visited, is the North Point Lighthouse in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is located in the beautiful park, the shape is unique and surrounding nature adds to it’s beauty.

Few more lighthouses that I explored and photographed in Wisconsin and Michigan gave me the opportunity to enjoy beautiful shorelines, especially during sunrise or sunset.

There are over 100 lighthouses wrapping around Lake Michigan, each is unique and different in shape, color and structure. I am planning to visit as much as I can to document their beauty during different seasons.

But for now scroll down the page and enjoy those beautiful lighthouses I visited so far!
