Gemma Gene, also known as 157 of Gemma, is an illustrator from Barcelona who started making comics about her life with a "chubby and opinionated pug, Mochi." Gemma’s artistic journey into comics began by doodling cartoon images of everything that went through her mind, though she didn't publish it anywhere. However, after the artist moved to NY in 2014, Gemma revisited her cartoons and started drawing her adorable pug, Mochi, while riding the subway. At the time, the creator had no idea that her lovely drawings of Mochi would become extremely popular among dog lovers and cartoon enthusiasts who find Gemma's humorous depictions to be extremely relatable.

In a previous interview, Gemma shared people’s reactions to her comics: “A comment that I get a lot is 'Do you have cameras in my home because my dog does the exact same thing!' As it turns out, what I thought was so unique about Mochi is common in many dogs! We accidentally created a very supportive dog-loving community that has gradually grown over time.”
Over time, Gemma’s comics have evolved, and what started as hand-drawn black and white doodles now are colorful and well-developed cartoons made using a computer. Gemma also continuously adds new characters, since her comics are based on her life and their family has increased in numbers.

I've got it even worse - Stilgar has myoclonus (twitching) from having distemper as a puppy XD I have to take at least 10 photos, as he'll be blurry from his twitching in 8 of them XD

It's funny, but in real life, she should have had Mochi in his carrier already, if she knew she needed to get on the bus. Don't be the person who says "Wait, hold up the entire bus full of passengers so I can cram my Pug into his carrier!" We all hate that person. XD

Little dogs ALWAYS think they are much bigger than they are. I know because we had one, a small jack Russell. Not vicious, just didn't think she was little, would stand up to bigger dogs. It was funny
