All of us cat owners consider our kitties one of a kind, and truth be told, each of them is unique. But then… they also have so much in common with other felines, and we can all agree on that as well.

The comic series by Lingvistov, well known to our Bored Panda community, is great proof of the above statement. This illustrator does a fantastic job of depicting the daily situations cat parents experience! Some of them are cute, others hilarious, and then there are those annoying moments… that, in hindsight, turn out to be funny too—a mix of everything for cat lovers everywhere.

The artist who created the series shared her thoughts with Bored Panda on cats and why they play such an important role in her work: “Cats are amazing creatures that can both brighten your life and turn it into a complete hell. The way they treat you like you’re nothing is so annoying but you can’t help loving them! Because they are cats and they’re fluffy and cute and—most importantly—when they purr, the world stops!”

Landysh also shared how her style has evolved since she started creating comics, adding: “It's an inevitable and rewarding process for any artist. You get to play and experiment, choosing things that you think work the best!"

I have a picture of my old cat while I was sleeping she was sleeping next to my face kind of but far enough away to where she had her paw reached out resting on my cheek just so she can touch me. It woke me up so I took a picture of it It's one of my favorites

Speaking of the creative process, the illustrator admitted that having a ritual is a crucial part of her work. The author of ‘Lingvistov’ explained: “My therapist told me that I need a ritual to switch to a creative artistic mode. And I realized that smells are a powerful tool! For me, this ritual now is brewing coffee—it helps me start. Another thing I do—I try not to push myself. I have one or two drawings scheduled for a week, not ten or fifteen like I used to—this way I can enjoy the process, avoid burnout, and actually accomplish more! It's important to have a hobby and do something physical. I have been swimming competitively for six years! This helps me not to get sucked into the black hole of self-doubt and overthinking."

Lastly, Landysh kindly shared a piece of advice for aspiring artists who want to create their own comics. According to the illustrator, drawing from personal experience is the key to success, as people tend to connect with relatable content. She also added: “That was probably the most surprising thing for me—discovering that someone can see themselves in the comics I make. Another important thing is not to stop, because success is not something that happens overnight—it takes hard work and time."

Oddly my attention seeker is also my hider, guests or no guests. Then my Siamese is a judger who likes to swat at people when they pet him wrong 😂

My first cat and she did this spectacularly. Makes me miss her so badly. Its almost been a year without her but I still cry. We were adopted by a cat recently..I'm probably giving her negative vibes b/c she probably thinks she's the reason I cry when she does the above things.

This also happens when a beloved cat crosses the Rainbow Bridge - you are positive you hear their collar tags jingle, you are sure you caught the faint sound of their meow in a back room. And sometimes, on the very edge of sleep, you can feel them jump up onto the bed with you and curl against your legs.
