Bride’s Dad Refuses To Walk Her Down The Aisle At Her Same-Sex Wedding, So Her Boss Walks Her Instead
When Jennifer, a Taiwanese HSBC employee, decided to marry her girlfriend, her homophobic parents refused to attend the wedding and cut off contact with her. Though she feared disapproval at work, her boss responded kindly – by walking her down the aisle instead of her father.
Jennifer and her partner, Sam, have been together for 11 years. The couple has faced countless obstacles living in a conservative society, and since same-sex marriage is still not recognised in Taiwan, they’re not even able to legally register their union. Thankfully, Jennifer’s colleagues rallied around her with support, including CEO John Li, whose arm she held in place of her absent father as the brides approached the alter.
“We cried because we never thought we would make it this far,” Jennifer shares in a video produced by HSBC. Indeed, the faces of both brides can be seen streaked with tears, but also marked by the immense pride of a love triumphant against the odds.

Baroto... just google and you'll find countless examples of naturally occurring homosexuality in animals. You destroyed your own argument with your very first sentence. Also, I would love to see your face when you find out that some animals are naturally hermaphrodite - clownfish for example, can change sex. BOOM.

Great for them, but unfortunately the internet has made me very skeptical nowadays. Whenever I see a story like this I just can't help but think it has to have been done much more for the publicity than for the kindness.
If there are no voices of support, the only voices heard are those of dissent. If it were done in secret, there would be less chance of people in such countries realising that there is nothing wrong or strange in this. So the more publicity the better. The more people see of this, the more everyday it becomes, and at that point it simply an ordinary, acceptable part of society.

They are loosing a lot. Different cultures have a harder time accepting people who live homosexually. I hope they eventually realize their loss and accept them both into their lives.
trust me, occidental culture has a way harder time accepting homosexuality than asiatic (or at least japanese). look at all the yaoi, the yuri. Even Sailor moon had a homosexual couple in it. In my country, I've never seen anything similar. Homosexuality is considered out of place, maybe artistic, gross, weird, hipster but certainly not common. I live in France.

Do you know what the parents are going thru? Or their struggles? How come they are to be shamed?
