By Creating These Series I Hope To Inspire And Motivate People To Think About The Pollution

The human trash we leave behind in our water, forest and desert landscape are the vital force to make this body of work.

The shift that people made, especially in the last century have triggered me to tell a story about terrifying relation we have with our natural surroundings.

By polluting forests, seas and deserts by our waste, digital intelligence and human need to improve their standard of living – wealth.

The official number of trash only in The Netherlands, caused by waste, pollution, consumption and recreation is estimated around 250 million kilo a year!

Showing these images I hope to inspire and motivate people to think about the concept behind the photos they see.

I am moved to make art were the viewer can look at and fill in their own story, emotion en conclusion.

Out of curiosity, how is a girl holding flowers supposed to make us think about pollution? Is is because it was plucked before they all blossomed? That said, thankfuckinggod someone is actually worried about a proper environmental issue. C02 schmee oh schmoo. How about direct runoff from factory farms that kill streams? How about our lack of use of biodegradable plastics on a mass scale (even though those require 50C temps for a long time before they biodegrade). How about habitat loss? What about the allowance of packaging materials that aren't recyclable? What about the tiny plastic beads in exfoliating soap that end up in fish? So many real-world, right-here-right-now things to care about yet people throw their drained batteries in the garbage while yelling at you for not putting climate change at the top of your list. Okay, rant over, haha. Whew.

Hi, I have have used several current situations in the Netherlands that are very harmful for our environment etc. In short, the international wholesale in our flower industry is one of them. A lot of trash, poison and chemicals are used to market these flowers. In so many ways we damage our natural surrounding that cause disruption, waste and pollution, I have just used a few in my serie. Also it is an ongoing project..
