Capture the Essence of Urban Life: Submit to AAP Magazine’s 44th Issue on STREET Photography

AAP Magazine’s 44th printed edition is set to celebrate the best in street photography. This issue will focus on the theme STREET, showcasing projects that capture the dynamic and unpredictable essence of urban life. Street photography, as defined by Encyclopedia Britannica, is a genre that records everyday life in a public place, offering a unique perspective on the world around us.

Since the invention of photography, artists have used the medium to document their environments. Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre’s 1838 image, View of the Boulevard du Temple, is a prime example, capturing a Parisian street scene. As cameras became more portable and accessible, street photography flourished, with iconic photographers like Charles Nègre, Eugene Atget, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Diane Arbus documenting the urban experience. Their work helped shape street photography into the powerful artistic medium it is today.

The fast-paced rhythm of street life offers endless opportunities for creativity. In this issue, we invite photographers from around the world to submit their best projects that explore the raw energy of city streets, capturing both the everyday and the extraordinary. Whether through digital or analog methods, in color or monochrome, we’re looking for cohesive portfolios that communicate the heart and soul of urban environments.

Hey there, Pandas! My name is Diana (though some prefer to refer to me as Diane, Deanna, and even Liana sometimes), and I am a Community Post Moderator Lead for Bored Panda. As my position title states, I am one of the people (employed Pandas for bamboo) over here who work with the community side of things on this website to ensure all is well, and while at that, I also help various creators and artists get recognition for the incredible work they do by connecting them to a large worldwide audience. Other than that, outside of work, you can find me brewing a nice cup of coffee, making a pizza from scratch, or baking brownies.
