Jim Morrison, the famous singer of The Doors, is regarded as the most iconic and influential frontmen in rock music history. Morrison’s poetic and vivid song lyrics and his rebellious personality guaranteed him a rock legend status, which lasts to this day. He gathered an army of fans who adored him and the music he wrote inspired countless imitators.

However, the famous musician’s life was short. He died on July 3, 1971, and joined the 27 Club, with other music icons such as Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, and Kurt Cobain. Jim Morrison’s death was as mysterious as his life, creating many conspiracy theories. Some people believed that Jim was murdered, others said he might have died from sexually transmitted disease or was a victim of a government conspiracy. The official cause of death was listed as heart failure.

Less than a week before his death on June 28, 1971, Jim Morrison with his girlfriend Pamela Courson and their photographer friend Alan Ronay took a trip to Saint-Leu-d’Esserent, north of Paris. My thoughts exactly. Typical b******t American ignorance to anything happening outside the US. Ask literally ANYONE in Europe who they think the most influential frontman in rock history is and the name, of course, will be Freddy Mercury, not Jim f*****g Morrison

Marianne Faithful is recorded as saying that one of her ex-boyfriend's said he was responsible for Morrison's death via overdose. We'll probably never know.
