From nomophobia, an irrational fear of being without a mobile phone, to xanthophobia, a fear of the color yellow, countless phobias exist out there. Now this time, we’re delving into the mind of megalophobes, people who are in fear of anything large, like skyscrapers and jumbo jets.
In fact, there’s a whole corner of Reddit dedicated to sharing examples of this phobia known as megalophobia. “A place to post images of all things large, particularly ones that are 'triggers' for those with megalophobia,” the group’s description states.
Below we rolled up some of the most interesting examples shared on the group, so scroll down. Also, when you’re done reading this one, make sure to check out part 1 of the article.

Recently Got A 17 Hour Ferry And Looking Out Into Nothing At 3am Was Terrifying
Looking up and seeing the milky way in all of its glory is breathtaking though.
Yes. My thought was possibly better to look up
Load More Replies...Welcome aboard my job! In fact, I'm pretty sure you're on the boat I'm working on just by looking at the image. You get used to it.
Looking out into nothing isn't as terrifying as looking out into some giant glowing eyes looking back at you.
I remember being on a cruise ship at night and just looking into nothing but blackness all around. It was unsettling and cool at the same time.
I'm the person that feels like I'm about to be attacked by a shark in the deep end of a pool, but something about the ocean (above the water, imma nope right out of scuba diving) and the vastness of it, the mystery of it catches me so in awe that it's almost like I forget I'm afraid of it, I'm too busy being fascinated. The ocean at night is one of my very favorite things. Like in the moment I'm so small and the only things that exist in the world are me and the ocean.
Load More Replies...For me, it was like coming Home... as if I was born to be at sea, meant to spend my life sailing blue water.
Yes! See you said in a sentence what it took me a paragraph to hammer out. I never feel more me or more alive than when it's just me, the darkness, and the ocean.
Load More Replies...I imagine this what death looks like when you first die, then when you're at peace and with your loved ones who have gone before you, the sun shines and you're in a valley of wildflowers.
Be thankful, if you've ever worked on a commercial ship this is nothing in comparison (imagine, in the daytime and all you can see in every direction is sea, for days and nothing at night except navigation lights...)
Where can we all get a 17 hour ferry? How do it differ from a regular ferry?
I know the feeling. It's kind of confusing to look front and see...a wall of darkness that looks solid!
I dislike both: travelling by ship and/or plane. If humans were supposed to do either we'd have gills and/or wings.
Then just imagine how pitch black it was for those aboard the titanic when it sank
