Don’t you love how the Landlord underlined “Your” as in “Your choice” in the above letter? They are very clearly threatening their tenants with doubling rent immediately if they vote against the Landlord’s choice. I don’t like how you can see who voted for who in elections. Only our elected officials should be forced to show who they voted for but it should be a choice to allow our vote to be made public or it should be a sealed record that no one can access.

I got rid of Facebook because the laugh emoji was used as a way to bully and intimidate people. I wish they would get rid of the reactions and just stick to like and unlike. Politics have no place in the tenant-landlord relationship and should never be used for intimidation. Everyone has different political views and it's not anyone else's business what a person's political view is. This landlord needs to stop making threats like this, especially since they are illegal in the first place. You can't raise people's rent just because of who won a political race.

Report him for voter intimidation and sue his ass off.

I'd create a tenant association, get everyone on board and send a letter right back to the landlord, telling him he's going to be going to court to defend this little stunt he pulled, and after that, he'll be looking for new tenants for every single unit he owns, because everyone will move out.
