Former LA Waitress Reveals How 21 Celebrities Treat Staff At Restaurants
Interview With AuthorLos Angeles comedian and actress Annie Bond worked as a waitress "at a busy Los Angeles restaurant for five years," and as you can imagine, saw a fair amount of rich and famous many of us only dream of meeting.
So in a series of TikTok clips that racked up thousands of views, with part 1 amassing a whopping 1.7 million views, she laid it all out on the table and ranked the A-listers by giving them a score.
And while Lady Gaga, the queen of heckin’ everything, got a well-earned “five million out of ten,” some celebrities were not that fortunate. So let’s see who’s rude and who’s just too nice, according to Annie, who saw them up from very close.

Lady Gaga, 5M/10
Bored Panda reached out to Annie Bond, a comedian and actress originally from Austin, TX who’s been living in LA for 7 years now behind the viral TikTok video. Annie told us that she really loved her coworkers and the restaurant so much. “It was an exciting place to work and definitely kept me on my toes and taught me so much about food, wine, and people.”
When asked if serving famous people is somehow different than usual customers, the former waitress said that “They're just people too!” “It can be a bit harder to get the attention of the table to take an order when a celeb is at it, but at the end of the day, it's just people getting food.”
Most importantly, Annie said, “Your job is to make sure they feel comfortable and have a good time! They get approached all the time, so try and treat them like you would anybody else. If it is someone you really admire, wait until they are leaving to say anything! I usually chicken out.”
Danny Devito, 5,000/10
Emma Thompson, 200/10
And when it comes to faux pas you shouldn’t do while interacting with celebrities, Annie said it’s “definitely trying not to scream or pass out,” and added: “I accidentally walked face first into Jared Leto once on a busy day and thankfully he was really nice about it.”
Annie concluded that with her video, she just wanted to share “the honest experiences I had and the ratings are based on that experience and not the value of the human being!”
Having said that, she added that “obviously we all have bad days—even rich and famous people! But I do think we should always be kind to waitstaff, even when we are in a bad mood for whatever reason. I am also a young breast cancer survivor and love connecting with other survivors!”
Ryan Gosling And Eva Mendes, 11/10, I Would Like To Be In Their Marriage
Lin Manuel Miranda, 1000/10
Anna Faris, 20/10
Emilia Clarke, All The Dragons/10
Sason Segel, 100/10
It’s not the first time influencers have used the power of social media to rank celebrities they've served. Previously, the TikToker named Laura Mesrobian, who’s an actor and a server in New York City, shared similar observations in a video which went viral with 1M views.
Among famous A-listers was Jake Gyllenhaal, who got a 7/10. “Yes, he's gorgeous. Yes, his eyes will pierce your soul. But, kind of whiny. Really likes pinot noir and french fries. Always has friends. Somehow never paid, but he was pretty fun,” Laura stated.
Up next was Julianne Moore, who, according to Laura, was "Beautiful, classy, and sweet. One of the few celebrities to look you in the eye and say, 'Thank you.' Great skin. Really tiny. Joy overall." Hence, a solid 8.
Idris Elba, 10000/10, I'm In Lurve
Drew Barrymore, 1000/10
Shailene Woodley, 8/10
Zooey Deschanel, 10/10
Leslie Mann And Judd Apatow, 1/10
Moreover, Laura’s colleague at the same restaurant served Hillary Clinton, but she shared the experience: “It was post-election. She had been through it. I was thinking maybe she'd want red wine or something relaxing. Hillary Clinton was drinking tequila sodas.” The friend gave the politician “9/10 for drink choice,” and “2/10 for war hawk policies."
Will Forte, 1,000,000/10
Rob Mcelhenney & Kaitlin Olson, Million/10
Laura Dern, 500/10
Drake, 6/10
Darren Criss, 5/10
Prior to Laura, another TikToker named Julia Carolan has gone viral for spilling some major tea about celebrities that visited the restaurant she worked at.
The 23-year-old former restaurant hostess was especially unforgiving to Justin Bieber’s wife Hailey, who received a surprisingly low “rating” out of 10 for her multiple interactions with the model. “This is gonna be controversial,” Carolan said of Baldwin in her TikTok video. “I’ve met her a handful of times and every time, she was not nice.” She added: “I really wanna like her, but I have to give her a 3.5 out of 10. Sorry.”
Katherine Waterston, 1/10
But not long after, Baldwin herself came across the video and even took to the comments to address Carolan’s rating and apologize to her personally. “Just came across this video, and wanted to say sorry if I’ve ever given you bad vibes or a bad attitude,” she wrote. “That’s not ever my intention!”
According to Carolan, Baldwin’s friend, fellow model Kendall Jenner, was also “cold for the most part” and got a rating of 4/10.
Ryan Murphy, 6/10
This doesn't sit well with me, to be completely honest. First - we have no clue if she just made it up or not but also it just feels strange judging people (and handing that judgment to hundreds of thousands of people) based on (mostly) one experience. Like...I bet that I'd get 4/10 from many servers that I've met. Not because I'm mean but because sometimes I'm just having a bad day and I'm frowning, not fully paying attention, just in my mind and all that. I feel like this video makes it okay to expect celebrities to be *always* perfect. And that's a ridiculous expectation. Let famous people have bad days and show it when they're getting their coffees.
Plus she's got her face all over this. People don't like it when service people yap about them online. Good restaurants will never hire her now, because they can't trust her to keep her mouth shut and not harass the guests.
Load More Replies...I wouldn't eat there again if it was broadcasted like that. Tell your friends if you want to, but be discreet otherwise.
Shouldn t they be judging you? You are the one performing, they are the customers
This is all over the place. Stupid rating system. OP judging someone completely based off a 1 minute interaction seems really odd. Did these people actually eat there or is this made up? Who knows. Overall I'd rate this post 3 dead tulips out of 900 penguins.
I'll rate this post 5 burgers out of 50000000 dead bugs because I can.
Load More Replies...Just because they are celebrities doesn't mean you cant leave them their privacy while getting a coffee. i dont really care for most of those celebrities (as well that i refused to look at this nonsense). there is something fundamentally wrong with that post.
Rating customers is so stupid. Who are you to judge the people who are paying your wage? You don't know one little bit about them, what they did that day, how they feel or what's going on in their life. But this server thinks she can judge people on the very superficial interaction she had with them. I'd rate this server 0/10
No no, you need to rate this server 0 pencils out of 109 sheep.
Load More Replies...The kind of scoring system I'd expect from a 9 year old....at least 5 of them were "the nicest person I've ever met"...creepy super fans shouldn't wait tables in Hollywood..
yeah you exaggerate evey time a bit more until nobody is impressed any more
Load More Replies...People will do ANYTHING for their 15 minutes of fame. It’s gross. This article is gross. The people giving her attention to make it viral are gross.
Lord, what a pointless article. Why were these woman's thoughts considered so relevant that they needed to be broadcasted here? There was nothing informative, educational, funny or interesting about this. Just ridiculous gossip.
Just what Boredpanda needs more posts of people fawning over celebrities.
She isn't fawning over anyone. No wonder she's a "former" waitress, who would want her in their restaurant?
Load More Replies...Would someone like to tell me why I wasted my time on this article? Oh right, I’m procrastinating.
These types of people annoy me to no end. You have no idea what people are going through, celebrity or not. Everyone has bad days and bashing someone's character based on the short time you spend with them is unfair and ignorant. If I was a celebrity I'd stay far away from whatever restaurant she works at and if I was her manager I'd reprimand her for discussing their clientele with the public in this way.
She didn’t really rank them. The complimented them all and then mentioned a couple actors who weren’t over the top friendly. I rate this 3/10. Not informative.
Ok look, it's kind of annoying how she judges people by their popularity and appearance. It's like "Nice and polite", 6/10. "Very cute", 1000000/10. And I'm sorry but I don't get why she wanted to blab about everyone. They probably just trying to order a coffee or something and just let them be. Celebrities aren't some sort of gods, they have their ups and downs too... I'll give this post and the woman 1 overcooked steak out of a flower field.
I served John Cleese once in Santa Barbara for lunch. Instead of a tip he drew me a happy man with a speech bubble saying "my tip is don't eat yellow snow". I still have the note. Better than money!
Such bullshit. Actors have good days and bad days like anyone else. Surprise, everyone! They're human too!
As a restaurant manager I would fire her in a heart beat. We create a nice atmosphere to come and eat and relax and not have to worry about some attention diva judging you. It's not all about her and she seems to think it is. Rule Numero Uno. You don't talk about your guests. I have met lots of celebs. Some great, some nasty. But that's the biz. This woman will never work anywhere of note again. Imagine going out and thinking Oh I hope the hostess likes me! A joke.
I'd never go to the place she worked to eat again whether I was famous or not
Wow.. this post is tacky and abusive. You're going to give one person who has in no way been vetted a platform to put others on blast who were just trying to fulfill their most basic biological function. A time when many of us are not at our best. This is really bad form, BP.
Ten on a scale of 10 is the highest rating you can give; there's really no such thing as giving 110%. If you rate something 11/10 then 11 is your new 10.
So some celebrities are more aware than some others that their behavior in public may be scrutinized, judged and posted, basically.
Also, how the hell are all of them nice?? Actually all she said is that they are nice or kind or etc. Im not expecting something bad but at least change the words.
The last thing I'd want if I was famous and wanting to sit down for a meal would be my server completely speechless, unable to act professionally at her job, which seems like an establishment where celebrity customers are common. Then to have that server go online and blab a bunch of crap based on how nice I was to her.
"Former LA Waitress Reveals How 21 Celebrities Treat Staff At Restaurants" She can only say how they TREATED the staff at HER restaurant on the day they visited, which could vary greatly depending on what was currently happening in the celebrities private lives. This in no way gives insight into how these people treat others on a daily basis.
