26-year-old Trajuan Briggs, academic advisor at the University of New Mexico and father to cute-as-a-button toddler Isiah, recently initiated one of the most wholesome Twitter threads you'll ever see. Uploading an adorable pic of himself with Isiah sprawled over his chest, blissfully snoozing away, he suggested, just for fun, that other dads do the same.
“Fathers, we should start a thread of pics showing how our kids sleep on us,” he wrote, and it clearly resonated with people! Dads from all over the world joined in with their own pics, as well as exchanging opinions and tips on fatherhood in general.

“The thread started because I'm fairly new in fatherhood, I have a year in the game,” Trajuan told Buzzfeed News. “A lot of my friends are fathers so throughout the process no one ever told me about the crazy sleeping positions, it was never discussed.”
“So before bed, me and Isaiah watch Elmo on my phone and he just knocks out on my neck. As I'm laying there it hits me, take a pic because this is hilarious and send it to the bros. Then I thought how cool it would be if just fathers shared the craziness together. Sort of a 'you're not alone, bro' type thing for comedy. It just blew up.”
That's so sad, but at least you have a child who is literally half of him to grow up with you
Take comfort in the fact that they both sleep in the same position! That's a little quirk of Daddy's that they shared. Every time you see it, remember that.
This breaks my heart. I am glad though, he has these beautiful pictures, to remind him how much his Daddy loved him!!!
What a picture of peacefulness, love and deep contentment. It makes my soul smile.
As the pics started pouring in Trajuan realized that he'd done something special, bringing guys together in a positive way and spreading the joys (and hilarious moments) of fatherhood.
“The general online responses are dope!” he said. “Like I said, I didn't think it would be big at all so it's amazing seeing the reactions and positivity. That's what it's all about. The best responses have been all the participating dads.”
Toe in the nose... toe in die ribs... toe in the crotch. The joys of co-sleeping :)
That’s how my dog would sleep on me during a 3 day road trip....when she has 2 seats to herself...and then she would have dreams.…about kicking and running.....😂
He likes to reassure himself you are still there. Might get painfully for you sometimes but he's happy!
It does interfer with sleep but it is pretty funny and you know it, even when it happens.
Oh lord, help me. This is way to precious!! Thank you sir, for your service! God bless.
Since Dad is a soldier, I'm all teary with joy knowing he's still there to daddy and husband. This photo is how all children should be held. Close, and making them feel oh, so safe.
Dad, you sound like a loving father, children raised with love, become good adults with a positive future !!!
“Showing another side of fatherhood and having a community supporting each other. Just refreshing to see with a lot of good vibes. I just hope people take away the cool parts of life and social media. Twitter gives laughs, tears, motivation, arguments. I just want to provide a happy moment.”
What do you think? Did the thread bring the positive vibes for you? Does your child manage to find weird and wonderful ways to fall asleep on you? Let us know what you think in the comments!
She saw this painting by Salvador Dalí and she just hasn't been the same since then.
I miss the days when my body could sleep any way it wanted. That right there would have me in the hospital now.
Older siblings are often like second parents. I call my sister my sister-mother-friend, she’s all of those things.
Same here. I was the youngest and only girl, with 4 older brothers. My oldest brother was 18 years older than me; our mother was 22 when she had him in 1942, 40 when she had me in 1960. We didn't have the greatest father, so John stepped up to the plate, and looked out for his younger siblings while still a teenager. He was even mistaken for my father twice! Our mother was a very young looking 40, and if my father was out of town on business, John had to drive her to her OB-GYN appointments when she was pregnant with me. The receptionist once asked my mother why her husband wasn't more interested in the pregnancy. My mother had to tell the woman John wasn't her husband, but her son. Then, when I was 6, John picked me up from a friend's birthday party. Turns out he had been a year behind her father at the same high school, and the guy thought I was John's daughter. Needless to say, we were close. He passed away right before Christmas 2018, and it broke my heart.
Load More Replies...It's nice to see an older boy, who still likes to cuddle, a positive for sure !!!
Big brothers are important, especially for little boys, you are a good man !!!
Love is where you find it, good dad, you could have told her, later honey !!!
Laughed at the caption, cried at the tenderness and immediate love.
Colors on dad's shirt look like extensions on the child's head.
Load More Replies...One , or both could wake up with a stiff neck, beautiful baby !!!
I love it when babies' mouths fall open when they sleep. So adorable!
Beautiful picture. Some photoshopping to erase the person in the background would make it into an even better shot.
that same pic happened in my sisters life on her first Halloween... at night she slept the opposite way that my dad was sleeping it was adorable and i think we also have a pic of it in our dining room
Lovely. Baby claiming you on one side, the pup on the other. Now that is love.
Besides that everything is lovely on this, I was also noticing the baby' nice crochet outfit. Cool.
Load More Replies...Does any1 else see an orb in this pic? To me it looks like a face....to the right of the fathers head and just above baby girl's chest. Super creepy! Cute pic though ; )
A beutifull child! The one with the feet on the face is the most adorable thing!
There is nothing like the love of a sweet child. Look at you, you have the love if three of them!
The baby hand in the dada's beard is so sweet - for comfort and connection!
Awake they can be so frustrating (my man and my child), seen while asleep, so beautiful, all is forgotten and I am filled with the love to carry on.
Love how the beard grabbing is.. it’s like a kid entwining their fingers in moms hair! Comforting!
Heart to heart ! We only dream of that perfect sleep as adults! So cute!
This is not the only Will Smith post in this thread
Load More Replies...Well, except for the growling of the stomach, which is kind of a cool sound anyway...
Load More Replies...He looks so comfortable. Just hope for your sake he doesn't get started!
I was expecting more starfish kids! My daughter would sleep us off the bed! On top, underneath, arms and legs EVERYWHERE. Would routinely get a kick in the nose or an arm across the face. Wouldn't trade it for the world!
Miss these days! Will get to re-live them in about 5 months! :D 20180301_1...ad23f2.jpg
All very cute, yes, but with babies co-sleeping can be dangerous. Sorry but this just makes me feel concerned that people aren't realising the risks.
True that, but they aren't alone! someone is taking those photos, so hopefully watching carefully.
Load More Replies...Long time gone, she's 31 now, he's my ex, but I still love this picture. HilaryandG...250175.jpg
This is one of many that I've taken of my fellow and our boy. 994859_138...bcc2c8.jpg
I have a pic of My husband holding our newborn son on his chest , both asleep , from our first night in the hospital to give me a chance to get some sleep after my c-section. I fall in love with that man again every time I look at that picture.
These are beautiful! Thanks for starting this thread and keeping it going. It would be great if each of the dads could hold onto those photos and keep them highly visible when the kids get to be teenagers... so kids and dads can be reminded of that thing about the love. <3
