Benjamin Lloyd, a talented artist from New Zealand, devised a creative way to uplift the spirits of children at Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland. Rather than using traditional tattoo ink, he employs specialized, non-permanent sprays to create 'tattoo' designs on these young patients.

The aim? To boost their confidence and offer a welcome distraction during their challenging treatments at the hospital. This innovative approach underscores that it's not about real tattoos, but about offering comfort and strength to these young warriors (see part 1 by clicking here).

Given the chance, Bored Panda reached out to the artist. As we mentioned previously, Benjamin Lloyd was inspired to start using non-permanent sprays to create 'tattoo' designs for the children at Starship Children's Hospital by his desire to bring joy and positivity to their lives.

He told us, "I saw an opportunity to use my artistic skills to create something unique and special for the children, giving them a temporary tattoo experience that could boost their spirits and bring smiles to their faces."

Benjamin understands the importance of creating a comfortable and safe environment for the young patients at Starship Children's Hospital. He adapts his creative process by using non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and easily removable spray paints that are specifically designed for temporary body art. He told us that, "I ensure that the materials I use are safe for children's sensitive skin and take extra care in maintaining a hygienic and sterile working environment. I also communicate closely with the hospital staff to ensure that the creative process aligns with the comfort and safety guidelines of the hospital."
