That’s nice of him, not everyone’s enjoys being touched & that’s mighty respectful not to touch people without their consent. Some people just don’t like being touched & we as society should respect that.

He seems like a dope person. He does touch others, just not in this kind of photo. There are photos of him and Dolly holding hands on the same day as the photo with her above.

I always cringe when I see pictures of Hollywood idols with their hands right up under women's breasts. It always looks like they're trying to cop a feel. Either what he's doing here or keeping the hand on the back makes sense and seems appropriate.

My vote is that he is trying to show that there is no grounds for a sexual harassment suit against him.

It is very bad manners, in Japan, to touch people you do not know personally, and you do not touch people at all, in a familiar way out in public. itHe doesn't touch people out of sheer respect for other people, and honoring the culture he was partially raised up in, Keanu is a very down to earth person, and he thinks nothing of riding the subway to where he will be working! I have nothing but respect and admiration for him, he is not shallow or fickle like most hollywood celebrities, as far as I'm concerned he would be the kind of guy to actually show up if you were to invite him for your BBQ! It's hand gestures. Some culture says it's manner hands, others hover hands. To compare it to being respectful or not, is purely assumption and groundless. I like keanu movies, but people associate every little thing he does with "angelic'" things start to get annoying.

Well, you never actually know if this is a sign of respect (personally, I don't see anything disrespectful in putting your hand on someone's shoulder or waist) or a sign of distaste.

I don't get what is so special and pure about it. Do you go around touching strangers? If I have to be in some photo with someone I don't know I'm not putting my hands around them and I hope nobody touches me either

Once a nerd always a nerd. Hover-hands is often a sign that someone doesn't feel like they belong there and to touch people would break the 'spell' that they're actually there. It's been a long recognized feature of things like Comic-Con photos. The people who most feel in awe of others show hover hands, because to actually touch people would make it real, and suddenly invite rejection.

It's weird the things people notice & spend time trying to undertand

I'm just curious when someone will start the gossip that Keanu's behaviour is a clear case of mysophobia or that he doesn't touch people because he thinks they are inferior to him and he is actually disgusted by them. That's what usually happens when someone is only nice to other people.
