Billionaire’s Wife Provokes Locals After Buying Homes In Same Area
The wife of an American billionaire faced backlash after purchasing multiple homes in a neighborhood. She has subsequently accused the locals of being a “small-minded community.”
Kathy Cargill, the spouse of billionaire James Cargill II and a member of the US’ fourth-richest family, has been responding aggressively to a group of locals who have expressed worry over her buying multiple properties in a neighborhood in Duluth, Minnesota, USA.
Kathy reportedly started splurging about $2 million on 10 homes in Park Point, an idyllic Duluth neighborhood along a 7-mile-long (around 11 kilometers) Lake Superior sandbar.
The wife of the heir to Cargill, America’s second-largest private company, went on to purchase at least another 10 homes, making a total of 20, as per The New York Post.

Nevertheless, Kathy started to receive adverse reactions from residents who seemingly thought she had some sort of mysterious plans, especially considering the fact that the wealthy woman dubbed the homes “pieces of cr*p.”
Kathy reportedly slammed her neighbors as ingrates and canceled all her reputed ideas to better help the area.
In a recent article published in the Wall Street Journal, Kathy said: “The good plans that I have down there for beautifying, updating and fixing up Park Point park or putting up that sports court, forget it.
“There’s another community out there with more welcoming people than that small-minded community.”

The angered woman had reportedly informed the public that she had plans to build houses for her relatives in the neighborhood where she has a vacation home.
She further claimed that she had additional plans to install a coffee shop and courts for pickleball, basketball, and street hockey in Park Point Park. Nevertheless, the plans have now been scrapped as a result of her apparent ungrateful neighbors.
Kathy said of local critics: “I think an expression that we all know — ‘Don’t pee in your Cheerios’ — well, he kind of peed in his Cheerios right there, and definitely I’m not going to do anything to benefit that community.”

Mrs Cargill also reportedly vowed to keep her specific plans for the properties “even more private” after her neighbors demanded transparency over the future of the sites of the bulldozed homes.
The plan to keep her neighbors in the dark came after Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert penned a letter last month asking the billionaire to reveal her plans to city officials, The Post reported.
The Mayor said in a video statement on March 12: “So, like many in Duluth, I am also concerned about all the Cargill purchases on Park Point.

“We now know that over 20 homes have been purchased.
“I think we’re all just wondering, you know, what is the plan?”
Danny O’Neil, a longtime resident of Park Point who sold his modest $370,000 home to Cargill for more than double its value, told The Post earlier this year that the billionaire had plans to convert his home into an abode for her grandson.
Kathy asserted that she was there to stay, as she told The Journal: “Those people aren’t running me out.
“They can posture themselves all they want, but I’m not going anywhere.”
Kathy was slammed for being “entitled” on social media
"beautifying, updating and fixing up Park Point park" It's called GENTRIFICATION, Kathy! It's where you rich folk upscale a poor neighboorhood thereby raising its tax value. It prices out the existing residents forcing them to move out so you and your rich friends can move in and take over the place! Another example of the 1% taking even more from the 99. 😡
Don’t blame them for your dumb tax system that it the only reason why some people are priced out. Local taxes should reflect the cost of the local public services, they shouldn’t be indexed on the real estate prices. It makes absolutely no sense to double your taxes just because the market value doubled (that doesnt make you any richer as long as you’re not selling). The us is the only place in the world where owners are priced out by gentrification. It’s another story for renters obviously.
Load More Replies...Another rich person who thinks they can just do whatever they want with no regard for how it might affect other people.
And the infuriating truth is...they generally can and do.
Load More Replies...If some unnamed person told her that all of the hottest A-List celebrities were using sulfuric acid as a face cleanse, she just might. But doing that sort of thing would be wrong!
