“To All Of My Most Treasured, Loyal And Unwavering Supporters”: Johnny Depp Joins TikTok And Goes Viral With His First Video Thanking His Fans
On the first day of summer, the court announced that Johnny Depp won the defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard and was awarded $10 million. His fans were ecstatic and believed that justice was served, finally allowing Depp to clear his name which had been tainted for the first time in 2016 after his divorce.
Fans were not only celebrating Depp’s victory but they were cheering for him all the way through. They even brought alpacas to court to make him feel better. This didn’t go unnoticed and the actor is very grateful for his fans’ love and support during this whole painful process. In order to reach as many of his fans as he can, Depp created a TikTok account and posted a short video expressing his gratitude.

Up until Monday, June 6, Johnny Depp was only present on Instagram, where he has nearly 25 million followers, and on Facebook, where 14 million people follow him. He made his first posts on both platforms on April 16, 2020 but wasn’t very active, appearing there from time to time.
You can only imagine the excitement people felt when they found out that Johnny Depp created a TikTok account. He did so on Monday and by the end of the day, he already had 1.6 million followers, even though he hadn’t posted anything. As of Wednesday, June 8, his account is followed by 7.9 million people and he has already posted his first TikTok video.
In the caption, Depp expressed just how much he appreciates his supporters who went alongside him on this painful road

Now we know that he was preparing something special for his fans. In the video, he shows the other perspective of the countless clips people shared online of waving to the actor as he passed by in his car after each court session.
Then the clip cuts to the guitarist Jeff Beck’s tour around the UK, which the actor joined and performed together in various cities. He was not only touring but also enjoyed various bars, he visited Folly Wildlife Rescue, an animal rescue in Kent, and was meeting fans all over the place.

While the account was already popular even without any content, it was certain that a video was awaited as it immediately went viral on TikTok and in less than 24 hours, it was already watched by 14.7 million people and 4.9 million pressed the like button. Johnny Depp shared the video on his Facebook where it was viewed by nearly 2 million people and on the actor’s biggest social media platform, Instagram, it sits with 26.4 million views.
The video is 30 seconds long and has calming music complementing the images shown, but in the caption, Depp addressed his fans and left a message to his “most treasured, loyal and unwavering supporters.”
The star of The Pirates of The Caribbean acknowledged how invested his fans were in this case and that they went through it together. He didn’t know how he could show his gratitude to the people who supported him, so he went for a simple “thank you” and was relieved that they all could move on.
The comments of the video were showering the actor with love and you could spot comments of big TikTok personalities such as Kris HC or Spencer X congratulating Depp and celebrities like Paris Hilton showing they are happy for him.

He also shared some clips of him playing the guitar with Jeff Beck on his tour around the UK

It seems that Amber Heard also saw the video and already responded to the message he wrote for his fans. According to People, Heard’s spokesperson said, “As Johnny Depp says he’s ‘moving forward,’ women’s rights are moving backward. The verdict’s message to victims of domestic violence is … be afraid to stand up and speak out.”
This is very similar to what Heard said in her statement following the court’s verdict, “It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”

Johnny Depp fans weren’t ready for this gift but they flooded his comments with even more loving words
I see nothing positive from either side in that relationship. But rest assured no woman -- who her own mother fears and thinks taking a dump outside of a loo is a joke -- ever speaks for me or any woman I've ever known. That legal decision is not a step backwards for women, it's a big old arrow pointing at an abuser. Don't like it, don't be it.
I am a man who was in a relationship with a physically abusive woman for years. I see a lot of myself in Depp. He was a victim and he made his voice heard. People will bash him forever for that, but nothing but progress can come from justice.
Load More Replies...and now the barrage of docuseries milking this for all it's worth is coming. I literally saw an ad for one last night :(((
The public in general had a biased view that was proven in court so... I didn't reay care about the entire case until I saw the evidence and testimonies from Depp and Heard
