Jerusalem Through Vintage Leica And Zorki Cameras. Part 1

These photos are the result of several short walks in Mea Shearim (Haredi Jews neighborhoods in Jerusalem).

In this place, you find yourself in a time capsule. Like in the Jewish ghetto somewhere in Poland in the early 20th century.
I think old rangefinders Leica and Zorki cameras best capture the spirit of this place.

Photographing in this place – a real adventure…
For each non-dressed in their ‘Haredi uniform’ locals looked upon as a hostile intruder. And really do not want to be photographed! And still here all somewhere in a hurry. Or at least pretend. Nobody walks just …

I think you are right: this camera(s) give a great effect. Also the black and white is very nice! But try going on a sunny day, when it is not raining, and it is not Shabbos or a festival or anything religious--I am sure then there will be more people out, and they will not be in such a rush!!
