I agree there should be resources and help for the women who choose to keep a baby instead of choosing abortion.

In Georgia we DO have assistance for expecting mothers and we DO help mother's with young children. But we don't help enough. You may be able to get WIC, food stamps and government assistant for utilities. It's a toss-up on what may be available to you; mostly based on ethnicity and income (income includes assets). I own my house, so if I got pregnant and I was unable to continue working, I would get little to no assistance from the government. I'm not sure how they think that's supposed to work. Am I supposed to sell my house, and be homeless, so I can go buy food? The system is more messed up than most people realize. Georgia can say, "We provide Peachcare and WIC and food stamps. We take care of our kids." But they don't; not really. It looks good on paper, though.

That is a ridiculous argument, what if the Fiture childs destiny is being another hitler, Ivan Milat, Stalin etc. at the time of an abortion the fetus does not have the brain capacity to feel pain. There is more chance of a child being abused in the foster care system and suffering lifelong effects than becoming president etc. Do you not understand the complexities of adoption. There are too many children needing families than there are families who want or can adopt them. And many go through life without being adopted at all. Abortion is not abuse but literally forcing someone to do something they don’t want to do IS abuse.

If it is a child's destiny to be born, and become something great, then it will happen. The child that is destined to be born will be born to parents who didn't abort it. That is how destiny works. As for a fetus feeling pain: let me give you a tid-bit of info. You cannot feel pain without active synapses in the brain (the nervous system has to be connected AND active in the brain), which doesn't happen until 20-24 weeks. 20 weeks is 5 months! Most women have an abortion long before that, so don't worry about the "baby" feeling pain. My argument in favor of abortion is not that the child might be abused in foster care (that is a really stupid argument and pro-choicers need to stop saying it). My argument is that uneducated people, such as yourself, have no business influencing laws that have no affect on you. Unless you plan on adopting these unwanted children, and providing for the mental health of the mother, you really have no foundation in this argument.

Firstly contraception is not 100% reliable, even the world health organisation states that even if every woman takes contraception perfectly there would still be 6 million unwanted pregnancies worldwide. Secondly most women don’t know they are pregnant until around the 8 week mark. My first pregnancy I didn’t know until I was 10 weeks, my second was 7 weeks and my third was 9 weeks. Also Plan B won’t work for many women who take contraceptives or its too late before they know they are pregnant. Thirdly having a child possibly suffer through a rough life is not better than aborting a fetus that has no concept, no thought process, no pain receptors, no memory, no possible chance of surviving outside the womb etc.

If your brain is not formed, you have no brainwaves. If you have no brainwaves, you are not alive. If you are not alive, it is not a death sentence. Also, I was on birth control when I got pregnant. I didn't know I was pregnant for a few weeks (too late for plan B). It took me a few more weeks to save up money for the abortion (contrary to popular belief, it is not free). It took me another week to get an appointment and arrange transportation (had to take a day off work). My abortion was preformed at 7 1/2 weeks. That would be illegal now. If I had been denied an abortion, I am fairly confident I would have killed myself. How does that stack up in your plan for saving lives?

In Australia alone there are over 40,000 kids needing adopting and on average only 200 are adopted a year. The rest are in and out of foster care or institutions. On average in the US it takes a child 3-5 years to be adopted. Sadly some not at all. Many abortions are done because contraception failed. And FYI I am stating facts.

I'm fully aware that a period is unfertilized and cannot produce a child on its own... I know how my body works and went to school lol! My comment was merely wondering that if people are going to get emotional over the "death of a child" when an undeveloped fetus is removed from a raped child, are they next going to think "PERIODS ARE ALSO THE POSSIBILITY OF A CHILD GOING TO WASTE " Um, no. But people will probably get too sensitive and start to think that. If a period is no problem like you said because its unfertilized, so what if you get an abortion because it was just going to be a period anyway.
