There's no doubt that our brains like order - symmetry, self-repeating patterns, perfect alignments, and intuitive placement. Seeing such satisfying pictures pleases our mind and makes it easy to understand our surroundings. On the other hand, imperfections of flawed things cause us to pause and do a double-take, annoying the hell out of the perfectionist inside us. this is by far one of the most insulting things I have ever read. as someone who suffers form OCD and general anxiety I can assure you that OCD is not the brain being infuriated by things out of place. Perhaps your authors should do some proper research before making people who already suffer from the stigma of having OCD feel further ridiculed and alienated. well done bored panda.
