This TikTok Video Comparing iPhone And Android Speed In Real Time Is Going Viral
InterviewThere are cat people and dog people. No questions about that. Then, there are dark and white chocolate people (milk choco eaters stand in the middle.) And just like that, there are iPhone’s iOs and Android loyalists who have been divided since the dawn of time. Or rather, since 2007 when Steve Jobs released Apple’s first iconic smartphone sold in 6.1 million units.
The debate on which one is better and faster has been leaving family members torn apart at the Thanksgiving table, and lovers turning in opposite directions after realizing they’re not meant for each other.
And one TikTok user decided to run an experiment and measure the speed of Android and iPhone. Corylewis04’s video, which has been watched 2.6 million times, left Android users cheering loudly because, well, the result is kinda obvious. Will it end the everlasting debate, or simply add fuel to the burning fire? Time will tell, but I’m suspecting the latter.
This TikTok video showing the speed of iPhone and Android in real time has been going viral

The TikTok user decided to put the common claim that “Androids are slow” to the test and here’s how he did it

Bored Panda reached out to the TikToker Cory Lewis, who said the idea to make the now-viral Android vs. iPhone speed comparison came as he “got tired of iPhone users telling me that Androids were slow and laggy, so I decided to show them otherwise.”
In the short footage, Cory showed what opening the same apps simultaneously on iOS and Android operating systems looks like. Android seemed to be responding much quicker than iOS, which debunked the common myth.
Cory also said that he personally would go with Android. The guy, who runs a YouTube channel “Cory The Great” where he reviews all kind of phones on camera, confessed that “I didn’t expect it to go viral at all” and is more than happy with the result.

The debate on which mobile phone is better, Android or iPhone, has been on and off, I mean on, for over a decade. That’s some serious dominance by the two big tech boys, but in reality, both iOS and Android operating systems are excellent. In order to find out which one performs better, one has to look at particular parameters and start from there.
According to Digital Trends, if you can’t make up your mind, you should “pick the things that matter most to you, count the wins in those categories, and you have a personalized recommendation.”

For example, affordability is always one of the most important things to think about before buying a phone. “Apple’s iOS is an exceptional operating system, but the high entry point has always been an issue for it,” suggests Digital Trends.
In fact, even if Apple’s iPhone SE and iPhone 11 have finally made the entry point lower, it still doesn’t come close to Android’s vast range of much more affordable devices.
When it comes to apps, Digital Trends counted that there are 2.7 million Android apps and 1.8 million iOS apps. Bear in mind that most popular apps operate on both systems. Moreover, the Play Store offers more free apps than the App Store, making iOS somewhat of the winner in this department.

Digital Trends suggests that even if “Google Maps would win this category hands-down,” Apple Maps have become a serious competitor with many improvements.
“Right now, Google Maps still has a small advantage due to its larger database of reviews and businesses,” concluded the report and added: “but its lead has narrowed a lot, and we expect to see this category fall into being a tie eventually.”
In the end, it’s always best to be open and listen to various points of view before making a decision on which phone to get. Think of what matters to you the most, and try to look at which device’s specific features give the best performance.
And people could not miss a chance to join the Android vs iPhone debate

To be honest, I prefer Android since it's cheaper than Apple. I have been using the same phone since 2015 and it still works great. My friend's been considering switching to Android after his iPhone went all wonky (with a blue screen, weird flashing lights) when he updated it. I'm okay with Apple, but their recent phones aren't that good for me.
Grета Jaruševičiūtė , you really need to stop using that word...
Load More Replies...I prefer not-Apple for my electronics simply because I don't believe in paying extra for the Apple logo. I'm not into designer brands either.
Me too. I understand about the brand image and that's generally good. However personally it's too obnoxious for me. I can't stand bringing a gadget with Apple logo on it, because people will instantly assumed that I am rich and took things for granted, I'm living well but I don't need that stigma in my consciousness. As long I am as smart as my smartphones therefore can do as much things as iPhone users can do, I'm good.
Load More Replies...So I now know that I've been having to wait up to 0.05 of second more than iPhone users? No wonder my life has been absolute hell for all these years..........
Android was on the left. I had to rewatch the first 2 seconds 8 times to get a screenshot showing 'Say "Hey Google"' to figure that out, so I hope someone can benefit from that! (Your joke is still valid, just from the iPhone users POV).
Load More Replies...I really don't care which phone is faster. I do care about ease of use, safety, protecting my privacy and personal data and being free to do with my phone what I want. In all of these Apple falls short in comparison with any Android phone.
This is what in science is referred to as "anecdotal evidence". It is essentially worthless. There is not even a proper setup of the experiment. It is not reproducible, and it on top compares apples to oranges. Besides, who claims that a top-end Android phone would be less responsive than an iOS model? I have never heard this claim, likely because it does not make sense.
It's not even anecdotal evidence, it's a flat-out biased experiment. I don't care about this silly OS war, but all such post do is to add more confusion. This doesn't tell me that either and Android or iPhone is better, it just tells me that the poster has an agenda.
Load More Replies...Android is an OS not a phone, you need to compare similar model phones, based on specs like processors, some Android ones are better and some are now. That simple
All these "experts" chiming in yet none point this important fact out. I just kinda' check out when people start arguing about which is better. Seriously folks it's just a phone you shouldn't be this passionate about it.
Load More Replies...As an It professional I prefer Android as I can access the actual operating system and program it like I want (provider can disable FM Antenna as much as they want, I re-enable it) I can remove all the unnecessary crap I don't want that providers add, like Facebook and Instagram I also added extra reminders for low batteries...
As a former wireless switching tech and also holder of a 2nd class FCC Radio Telephone license, I can read and understand the specs listed for both the Android and Apple based phones. My own personal phone is Android based with a VPN app being one of the first apps I added after getting the phone. I also removed/deleted any application I had no use for. I also do a weekly house cleaning to remove the junk data on the phone. It doesn't usually take too long as I do not do a lot of internet activity on my phone. I also have yet to exceed my allotted talk time every month.
Load More Replies...hahaha I can relate so much to this people are always telling me that iPhones are better and that I should get one
Yh lyk WTF am living a phone fantasy with my Android phone soooo happy with it
Load More Replies...Android phones turn slow? Hahaha, LOL, nope. You TAKE CARE of your phone same as you do with your oPC. I have BlackBerry phone for past 4 years now, it has not slowed down a bit in comparision to day one out of box. Why? Because I take care of it - I remove crap, cookies, temp files etc. iOS is for people who are tech idiots, sorry guys, like the phone you'd give to your granny so she wouldn't broke anything or block it on her own. If you can do anything more than just on/off, & open TikTok - Android OS is better solution for you, as you can make it a custom fit system. Also - tons of free apps for Android :P And we still get charger and earphones with our mobile phones :P
