Imagine touring the world, soaking up the sun in some of the most exotic locations, and using them as your backdrop to exquisite animal drawings. It sounds like a just a dream for many, but we've actually just described Faye Halliday's life.
The visual artist, originally hailing from the UK, has embarked on a traveling project dubbed Haathi, which means elephant in Hindi. She was inspired to honor these beautiful animals in new ways after witnessing the Elephant Festival in Jaipur, India, where the enormous creatures are adorned with intricate drawings. Those same majestic patterns are now the basis of Halliday's detailed drawings, which turn various animals into hypnotizing, dream-like amalgamations of line and shade.
Haathi has taken Faye Halliday across a number of tropical destinations, which we can only guess are the most inspiring environments for her unique art. Her most recent Instagram update shows that she's currently in Seychelles - a place we're sure her 328 thousand followers would most likely rather be. Check out some of her most beautiful artworks, and don't forget to vote for your personal favorites.
