It's a "therapy" (brainwashing torture would be a more suitable name) to turn homosexual people into heterosexual people. It's totally useless, because your sexual orientation is not something you decide voluntarily, and according to victims who went through it, extremely traumatic.

Imprisoning people, usually teens, at the request of their parents, and using various means to "un-gay" them. The methods range from isolation, brainwashing and verbal abuse to outright torture and sexual abuse, including rape. You can't pray away gay, but you can traumatise LGBTQ+ children into faking straight, so there are "success" stories that convince homophobic parents to pay for their kid to be "converted".

People think you can "cure" the homosexuality away and send their kids to conversion. Even if it were possible to become a heterosexual through therapy (which it isn't), the people running these conversion camps would not be qualified to do it.

It is what drove, in part, Alan Turing (look him up) to commit suicide. A dogmatic belief that has been proved time and time again to be utterly ridiculous, not to mention cruel, sadistic and perverted beyond belief. Anyone who has anything to do with 'conversion therapy' should be subjected to a taste of their own medicine then locked up for a few years ... see how big Bubba and his sex starved friends like your ideas in the confines of a prison, pastor.

A group takes you away and tries to force you to be straight....historically there has been physical and mental abuse and these institutions are widely supported and funded by the Christian/Catholic church. It would be like the Taliban getting a tax break and taking in millions in profit to force poor people to live by forced values but make it Canada or USA.

It's better that you ask and learn than be ignorant. Sometimes homophobic/transphobic parents of queer kids send their kids to a coversion therepist or camp to try to change them into cisgender and straight kids. Or in my case, my parents threatened to send me to Catholic school to convert me and compared it to sending boys to military school for their behavioral issues (because apparently being queer is a behavioral issue now)

If a person who comes out as LGBT+ while the surrounding people do not accept it, it happens that the LGBT+person is sent to therapy to hide this identity and turn her/him/then into a straight person. The therapy sessions are contradicting and violating the persons' identity and are mostly unwilling and without succes. Conversion is NO cure.

Basically they try to *reprogram* your brain into being straight and normal like everyone else. It rarely works, so say if you are gay and go into this course, either you are miserable for your entire life because you cannot find a partner(legally) so you live alone, or you get so messed up mentally that you decide life isnt worth it and cut the cord. At least, this is what I've heard. Its like trying to rework someones personality with therapy and other weird ideas, it rarely works and recipents often end up worse coming out than they did going in.

as someone who is currently in school, I can assure you that teachers are not telling kids to be gay. If someone finds out about what being gay is from school, it's from other kids

Transgender people don't think they're changing their DNA, you should really look up what thransgender people actually think and feel, because you have clearly no idea. Transwomen don't think that they become ciswomen, they are very much aware that they are transgender, they just want to be allowed to be women in the social definition of the word, to be allowed to look like women and be treated the same as other women. Same for transmen. By the way, using DNA as the basis for gender, will lead to very weird results. How would you even know if someone is a girl or boy by that definition, do you ask for a DNA test instead of looking at them? People can have a female phenotype (being born with a naturally female looking body) while having 'male genes' (XY), or the other way around. If a woman with CAIS naturally has a vagina and boobs, is she a man just because she has XY? That seems weird to me. The biology of sex is really complex and diverse, "XY = male" is a total oversimplification.
