TIL about BACA, a biker gang that will defend kids who were abused or bullied, give them their own vest, take them the school, and will even guard a house 24/7 to make sure the kid can sleep
I saw a video about this organisation. They stay with abused children through court proceedings, at school, etc. if the abuser isn't remanded to custody. Really Solid work.
Where are they from? And what does BACA stand for? Can you tell me please?
Load More Replies...Two summers ago there were some nasty incidents in my city involving pride events. BACA showed up to the pride family picnic (and other events) to make sure no one could start trouble there, when they weren't keeping a look out at entrances they coloured with kids, got their faces painted, played hopscotch, blew bubbles and had a blast with everyone!
They’re absolutely great people! They just kinda hang around, it’s amazing
Load More Replies...They just supported my boyfriend's daughter in court when she had to testify against her now ex step-father for abusing her. Lovely guys who made a scared kid feel powerful. THANK YOU BACA!
The coolest biker gang in the whole world. Don't mess with them, they will make sure that nobody messes with you. Good bikers
They are not always children. Ever watch abducted in plain sight? They went with her in her 40s.
We need more "badasses" (goodasses) like that! Great human beings. They should be more recognized and imitated throughout the world.
I once ran into a group of bikers with the BACA patches on their jackets/vests while dining at a barbecue restaurant and let me tell you, they were honestly super, super polite and kind even dealing with them as a fellow restaurant patron. I can't imagine how huge their hearts are but they must be the size of the universe based off my little interaction with them.
I LOVE these guys. Imagine being 7, and having to testify in a court in front of the adult who hurt you PLUS a bunch of strangers. But then you meet these big tough guys who guard your house, josh around with you, and are there in court with you to make sure you feel safe!
i think ive heard of stories like this on reddit were they escorded the kids of some abusive parents out of a courtroom
BACA stands for Bikers Against Child Abuse, they are not a gang, but and organization. They work regular jobs and a lot of them have families. They do great work with abused children making them feel safe. There are chapters all across the country. There is never one member of this organization with the child always two or more. They are background checked before they become members.
i've said it before and i will say it again: most of the bikers i have met are good people. their's is a lifestyle in which they enjoy. even the so-called 'gang' members are decent folks as long as you are respectful to them - just as you should be to any person. this group is great. it really is a shame that this and other things that some of the groups do isn't given more notice.
Really. Thank you Fairy Dogmother I was just about to ask if there was any way people could should these guys appreciation for their thoughtfulness and big hearts.
A friend of mine who is a cop is a semi pro boxer/rugby player biggest MF I have ever seen went in to the domestic side of policing to make kids feel safe about giving evidence.

Here’s the thing about knowledge—if our metaphorical cup is full, if we always want to prove others wrong, and if we get overly defensive whenever a factoid threatens our worldview, then we’ll only ever live in our own private echo chamber.
Sure, it’s comfy and cozy in this homogenous bubble of views, but it doesn’t help us grow and evolve as human beings much. We have to be willing to question everything. And even if we turn out to be right about something… well, there’s a lot to be said for being graceful and diplomatic with our words if we want to teach others, not just create an argument out of thin air.
TIL Gorillas hum happy songs when they eat. “And if it’s their favourite food, they sing louder.”

“The key is to discover things together. If something sounds strange or unlikely, respond with curiosity—ask the person to tell you more, and how they found this information out, and where you should go if you want to delve into it further,” the expert said.
TIL Gillian Lynne did so badly in school teachers thought she had a learning disorder & her mom took her to a doctor. Lynne began dancing to his radio; the doctor said: She’s not disordered, she’s a dancer; put her in dance school. Lynne became a world-renowned dancer & music theater choreographer.
Not everyone learns the way things are taught in schools. Both my kids are very visual learners and learn better when they are actually included/involved in the lesson. Theory work is a real struggle for them. If I could afford it, I would have sent both my kids to a Montessori school.

Even if somebody gets their facts wrong, we shouldn’t get angry at them… well, unless they’ve been deliberately misleading us. “Ever since the Age of Enlightenment, humans have realized that the best way to get closer to the truth is by saying something out loud and seeing if it stands up to scrutiny. If not—hooray. We are one step closer to the truth because we've just jettisoned a misconception.”
TIL Pope Benedict XVI resigned in 2013, but announced it in Latin. One reporter got the scoop and broke the story because she understood Latin. Most other reporters waited for official translations.
They made him resign for wanting to do something about the systematic covering up of pedophilia, out of guilt like any good catholic, of course. Downvote away, but it's a known fact. Just as known as Sinead O'Connor's claims against the former scumbag pedo pope they even sainted. What a fkcn joke!

TIL that three german students got sued by their alma mater for 10,000€ because they graduated "too fast". They completed their bachelors and masters degree within 4 instead of 11 semesters by attending different lectures and sharing notes. Then they founded a ghostwriting agency!
Instead of being confrontational when we learn that an authority figure in our lives has been wrong about something, we should look at the situation as a great learning opportunity.
“If it turns out that you do find some information that contradicts what the other person—your teacher or boss or anyone—has stated as true, again, the best approach is not confrontation. It's assuming that the other person didn't mean to steer you wrong,” Lenore said.

What's with downvoting perfectly good comments? Someone mentioned that Ikea founder was a Nazi sympathiser and it was downvoted. He was! A person mentioning jizz upvoted over 70 times. BP seriously needs to reconsider why is voting even necessary? Reading others' comments I'm finding that it does upset people
I mean whenever I think of Ikea I think that their founder was a trashbean of a human, and not a nice person, and that Ikea tax evades like a mf, but most people don't know that about him/them and the consensus worldwide is that they are a company people like and they wanna get cheap stuff from. So it's hard to face that or wanna badmouth ikea. It's like Apple. They are trendy and their marketing is great so even though they practice exploitative business practices, they seem woke etc and they are popular and people want to like them. It sucks but it is what it is.

Dude that is amazing!!!! I've just tried and it is true! So funny! I wish I could upvote you 1000 times!
Load More Replies...And I suspect half of them aren't even factual/accurate! :-)
