Perspective changes everything. Take a particular object, put it in a specific time and place, and you see how it differs compared with an almost identical one. And since such an experiment would probably be slightly too elaborate for real life, Bored Panda has compiled this entertaining collection of the most surprising comparisons.
From comparing a chimpanzee fingertip with a human fingertip to photos of a man before and after walking across China for the whole year, these are side-by-side shots that show the weird and the wonderful side of the world we live in. So pull your chair closer, get your popcorn ready and tune in for the list that puts a spin on the good old “spot the difference” game.
After you’re done, make sure to check out our previous posts with incredible comparisons here, here, and here.

Perspective is a beautiful power to subject things to. Not only do we start seeing their beauty, as in the cases of these comparisons, it can also make us feel better. You see, while putting things in perspective, we are selecting a particular mode of seeing them, and it doesn't just feel like it, our brain actually does it.
Scientists say that changing perspective is a healthy exercise if we want to be empathetic, rational and compassionate. However, changing perspective is not merely about seeing things from the point of view of another. It's just as much about gaining perspective.

Changing one’s perspective has to do with the point of view in which you stand. By stepping outside of our usual perspectives, it can become possible to frame arguments in ways that motivate others instead of leaving them feeling rejected, for example. In a similar way, you can start seeing things not as simply black or white, good or bad, but in a more complex light. This will get us out of the loop of negativity, prejudice and other negative emotions.

Cheers To 2 Years Of Health! 100 Lbs Lost And Maintained For A Year
How many calories would you need to eat to lose that much weight in only 2y? Anybody knows? I have been eating 1400kcal a day on average for the last five months and I lost three kgs... :( I am aiming for 1200 now but its difficult to be able to cook nice meals at the same time.
A lot of doctor's have dietitians who provide free or low cost service to help you understand your body and how it processes food. Along with calorie deficit you need to take into account your blood sugar. Everything you eat fluxes your blood sugar and big spikes aren't healthy. For me, I can't eat sweet potatoes because they spike my blood sugar so high my body won't process the food. You can also start watching how much sugar you intake, so many "healthy" brands pack their products full of sugar, substitute sugars, and gums...that's really hard to process and most times your body stores it. You can do it! Everyone is different and there are lots of resources to help! Disclaimer: not a doctor or medical professional, speaking from personal experience.
Load More Replies...I have to say, I lost about 100 lbs in a year and kept it off for 14 yrs. My secret was low carb diet with lots of non-starchy veggies and 3 to 5 miles of walking a day. To keep it off, I continued a low carb diet except for one day a week when I ate every wonderful thing I could think of so I never felt deprived. You can do it!
After losing an ex amount of weight the world must be like a new place. Having to do the things you couldnt do before
My legs (unlike the rest of me right now) are great. The only exercise I do is - I walk A LOT - in decent, walking shoes. Cycling is also good.

With regular exercise and no sweets, my wife accomplished similar results in the same general time frame. She ate whatever she wanted, just no sweets, salty, or fried foods. I made all our meals, minus those bad things, and we went for daily walks. It’s not the caloric content of the meal. It’s the source of those calories consumed and whether your body needs all of them. Please don’t starve yourselves thinking it will help your weight loss. It destroys your health overall, and then you gain it right back.
Depends on your height, according to a dietician. I am 5feet 2inches tall and should eat no more than 1200 calories a day. Taller people have a larger body mass, so can eat more calories for their height. I was dishing up same size meals for myself and my 5feet 9inches husband, which dietician said most couples do....hence weight gain. Also cut right back on sugar. Now I have a smaller plate!
You look fabulous, the diet, and you likely did exercise, you usually need both !!!

Again with the fat phobia! Her formerly fat body was a positive step in the revolution! Now she's given in to fascist beauty standards!
I'm not sure linking someone's loss of weight to "fat phobia" the OP didn't [and doesn't need to] go into extensive detail about why weight was lost. I agree that we need to get away from the "Barbie and Ken" precedent that has been forced on us. I agree that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes [being a thicker person myself]. That being said if someone wants to lose weight to feel better mentally, physically, emotionally, then who are we to judge?

One reason more to see why "race" is a ridiculous concept. I bet that a lot of people wouldnt say that the person in the right is "white" when they see both together. Same if you see me (extremely pale and more "north european" looking) and my sister (very tan and more "mediterranean" looking)
