It's my greatest nightmare as a disabled woman who requires round the clock care giving and such. That or being abandoned like Katrina patients were. The Dr made the only humane choice but it's so scary. More for my mom though. I can't take care of her. She's MY caregiver. And really disabled as well. There are no good options anymore

Private Equity Firms in the US own numerous nursing homes. Expect much more of this if we do not work for and demand extreme, immediate changes. Same for numerous hospitals and/or emergency rooms. We are in an extreme crisis that is/will only get worse and nobody is doing a god damn thing! I'll end me before I would ever go to a nursing home - they are horror, s**t shows.

Besides having a DNR and a MOLST, I'm doing everything legally within my power to remain out of these for-profit hell holes. I'd rather someone push me off a bridge than wind up in this horribly run places.

It's disgusting that this company was literally allowed to abandon bed ridden sick and elderly residents. Where TF is the accountability here? These two men deserve a lot more than a post on some internet site.

So, staff had neither Christian, nor Family values, except in these two? You can't just abandon elderly people! They have to be moved somewhere else, before it can close. Either home to their children, or to another elderly home. Were the rest of the staff really just leaving the old people to die in their beds? These two are not really heroes, it's the others who are despicable monsters. (Their actions made them heroes, of course, but it ought not to have been needed, if the rest of the staff, and mostly the managers, had been decent human beings.)

These men are heroes in my book! How can staff just abandon the defenseless, helpless elderly?? I'm sick and livid at the same time. I hope the owners were arrested.
