Museum visits are often informative to enrich one’s knowledge. But occasionally, you will have experiences that may leave you questioning whether what you saw was indeed real.

Take these unusual exhibits, for example. We’re talking about displays like jars filled with actual kidney stones, “the world’s roundest object,” and Thomas Edison’s final breath preserved in a test tube (and no, you didn’t misread that).

Like what we did in a previous piece, we’ve collected some of the oddest, most eye-catching museum finds from different corners of the internet. Scroll through and be amazed or weirded out, either of which would be understandable.

It's nice to see those iconic cuddly toys. However the REAL Christopher Robin used to own a book shop in Dartmouth (UK) and I saw him a few times when I visited it. It would have been nice to have had a good old natter about his life but I respected his privacy and bought my books and left. 🐻🇬🇧

Since we’re on the topic, let’s look at a few of the world’s unusual museums, beginning with the Beijing Museum of Tap Water in China. As the name suggests, it’s all about the 90-year-old history of Beijing tap water.

What can you expect inside the museum? One hundred thirty artifacts, 110 photos, 40 models, and sand tables. It also has a miniature tap water filtration system for a better visual presentation.

In addition to soulful jazz music and delectable Cajun food, New Orleans is also known for the Museum of Death. Stepping into the place, you’ll find antique mortician tools, body bags, coffins, and everything that will remind you of mortality

The museum also features photos of the infamous Manson family, along with images of crime scenes and car accidents. The website was kind enough to point out that this isn’t for the faint of heart, so proceed with caution.

"intimate assault"? What in the name of the Orwellian language police is that? . Don't be afraid to say the word r-a-p-e (cuz THAT'S what it is), even if the idiotic censors won't let you.

David

Actually, not all "intimate assault" is rape. That might be what they mean, but a lot of sexual assault is not technically rape. Rape is the worst, but say, grabbing a woman's breast is also intimate / sexual assault but it isn't rape.

When organizations like Bored Panda sanitise language and refuse to use words like rape, they are censoring, and contributing to the widespread silencing of, survivors that is part of the problem which creates the toxic environment where perpetrators are protected while survivors are shamed. We will never tackle rape culture if the word is more feared than the deed. (Edited for grammar)

BoredPanda has some of the most vile and disturbing censorship I’ve ever seen. They’ve censored the female form in great works of art. They’ve changed the word kill to “unalive” in posts. They’ve censored words like d***s, breast, suicide, and even the freaking word W***y. I’ve written to them about this and have never heard back. They honestly don’t give a s**t about their site not their readers.

Better than calling it sexual, since râpe has nothing to do with sex. Intimate means very close. And it also can mean direct or thorough according to the dictionary. Râpe victims often reports the feeling of not being comfortable in their own skin, because they feel so "taken over". I think it fits.

Get it through your head: CLOTHES DO NOT CAUSE R~~~. R~~ists do. Skirts do not. Dresses do not. Underwear and swimsuits do not. Diapers on infants do not. R~~pists cause r~~~, end of discussion. [ ............ ] And yet we STILL hear scumbag lawyers, scumbag cisgender heterosexual males asking "what was she wearing?" or "how much was she drinking?" If she cannot say "Yes" while awake, sober, and without coercion, then it's sexual assault no matter what attempts are made to excuse it. A defendant whose lawyer asks in court "what was she wearing/drinking?" should automatically be found guilty.

This is so poiniont and difficult to see for me, as a survivor I can't imagine how vulnerable I would feel to put the clothes I wore up for the world to see. Something so seemingly 'normal' yet to the victim so deeply entrenched with trauma. I wonder what the entire exhibition was? What a deeply important way to break 'stereotypes of victims' and expose others to the reality of the crime

Governments and media go on and on about terrorism, but the longest period of continual terrorism, lasting millenniums, is the one experienced by women and girls living in every corner of the globe. We'll go to lengthy wars, spend billions of dollars fighting terrorism, but how much government money is spent on the terrorism women/girls face EVERY DAY? And BP censors, you should be ashamed for censoring women's reality. The term is R A P E. As long as women risk experiencing this brutal trauma by simply existing, at least have the gonads to print the word instead of hiding behind some stupid euphemism.

This is called what was she wearing. Because when women and girls report that they were s*xually assa*lted judges, strangers, family will blame the victim. They will ask well, what was she wearing. Assuming that she brought it on herself. There are assaults in countries where the women are covered from head to toe with eyes veiled. Years ago I read a news article originating from one of these countries about a 3 year old girl. She was r*ped and murd*red by her father. Why? because he said she was enticing him by looking at him in a provocative way. The issue is NOT how women and girls dress.

This is important, a lot of people still have the mindset that people are “asking for it” because of the way they are dressed. Hopefully this will help shift away from the victim-blaming mindset, it’s ridiculous ): you can see quite clearly from this that it’s nonsense, I just, look at that little fairy dress. every time BP censors anything the comments are flooded with bitching and complaining about it, dude if it bothers you so much dont visit the Bored Panda website. no one is making you come here and check it out. you are so bored with your own life you have to create a big deal over censoring of words on a website that they are tyring to create as a safe space for people of ALL AGES meaning kids can be on here and also there are people that survive these things that dont need to be confronted by certain words that might bring up painful memories. if your precious feelings are hurt because of a word being changed or blanked out then leave the website. better yet log off the computer and find a hobby. you have too much time on your hands to be this worked up over something this simple and mild when there is so much more important things that are going on

As a survivor of CSA i find the word "intimate assault" repulsive, since there was nothing "intimate" about what happened to me, it was sexual assault. If you had bothered to read the comments you'd know many other survivors feel the same. Don't hide your endorsement of censorship behind the "think of the poor survivors who have to see this" facade, the survivors have expressed how we feel about this, you're just not willing to listen. Also as you can see by the little dress, kids aren't immune from sexual assault, on the contrary it happens way too often, so they shouldn't be shielded by a reality they sadly one day may face. Even if you're adamant that they should be left in the dark, this still doesn't excuse censorship. If parents think kids shouldn't be exposed to certain content they shouldn't leave their kids on the internet unsupervised.
