In Erin Brockovich (2000), Erin, Played By Julia Roberts, Is Ordering Food At A Restaurant. She’s Being Waited On By Julia, Played By Erin Brockovich
I was working for PG&E when that movie came out. Yeah, I was working for the bad guys. I'm not even in that industry any more.
Load More Replies...The real Erin Brockovich looks exactly as how I imagined her to look based off of how Julia Roberts looked playing Erin Brockovich. Does that make sense?
I know exactly what you mean. I think so too. She's exactly as I would have imagined, lol 😆.

I can't wait for that man to die. As a survivor myself, people like him deserve to suffer every minute for the rest of their pathetic lives.
Load More Replies...What is that thing?! I t is the ugliest thing I've every seen in my life!! How can anyone look at it and eat lunch or dinner? I just threw up a little!! NOW!!!! The guy on the right looks kind of cool!! I would watch a movie with him in it!!
Yeah, it's so ugly! But the orc is so cool!
Load More Replies...I think the Orc leader is way better looking. He probably has more morals too.
This jackhole seems to have a knack for wanting to cut down EXACTLY what should NOT be cut - please refer to his defeat courtesy of one Hayao Miyazaki...
He looks like a monster in the left pic already, but the right pic accurately portrays what's on the inside.
In Encanto (2021), The Multicoloured Water Was Inspired By A Real Place In Colombia...the Caño Cristales River. The River Is Commonly Called The "River Of Five Colors" Or The "Liquid Rainbow," And Is Noted For Its Striking Colors
All of the places you see in Encanto are based on real places in Colombia.
OMG i am totally not crying. you are! No but seriously such a pretty scene in both pics
To get to know more about the significance of hidden details and Easter eggs in movies, we reached out to Michael W. Boyce, Ph.D., writer, educator, administrator and host of the podcast, Geek 4.
As it is written on his website, Dr. Michael Boyce has taught a wide selection of literature and film courses, including Film History, British Film, Religion and Popular Culture, Fantasy Literature, and Television Studies, Film Adaptation, Film Noir and Film Genre. He writes, speaks, and tweets about literature, film, media, TV, comics, and multiple aspects of popular culture.
In Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022) You Can See That Dobby The House Elf Became A Model For Gucci After The Harry Potter Series Wrapped
Honestly there are a c**p ton of Easter eggs from other franchises in that movie, reminded me of who framed Roger rabbit so I loved it
From what I understand, it's sort of a love letter to animation. I'm actually interested in seeing it because the 2D/3D interaction plot sounds brilliant.
Load More Replies..."Dobby is a fashionable elf! But Dobby is still a slave to the modeling machine."
He died in the movie but since Harry Potter was clearly a fictional movie in Chip and Dale’s universe he was just an actor playing a role.
Load More Replies...In The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part (2019), You Can See Velma From Scooby-Doo In The Crowd. When Asked Why The Other Members Of The Gang Weren’t Included, The Director Said "In A Post-Apocalyptic World, Velma Would Have Been The Only One To Have Survived. The Other Kids Wouldn’t Have Made It"
Now all I can picture is Shaggy roasting Scooby's body over a camp fire.
In The Mummy (1999), Brendan Fraser’s Character Is Shown Loading Individual Rounds Into His Rifle, In Spite Of Its 8 Round Capacity. This Is Consistent With French Military Training, As The Lebel 1886 Was Equipped With A Magazine Cutoff; So That Soldiers Could Hold Rounds "In Reserve"
If there's anything I've learned from video games, it's reload often. If you aren't shooting, you are moving, if you aren't moving you are reloading.
depends on the gun. mag fed? reload when you're out. bolt action (specifically one that isnt mag fed, like mosins, enfields, kar98, lebel)? fire the round in the chamber, open the bolt, reload. (fire the round first, at a target ofc, because the action of pulling the bolt back will eject the round)
Load More Replies...I love Brendan Fraser. My favorite role of his will always be in Bedazzled - my sister and I would sing that goofy dolphin song to each other constantly! I can still remember all the words 🐬
That movie is dynamite. Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley have amazing chemistry.
Load More Replies...Firstly, we wanted to know what value Easter eggs add to a movie. Boyce thinks it’s a matter of rewarding fans of these films for spotting something – usually visual references to other works – that other people don’t notice. "This is especially true with large-budget superhero films with highly invested and passionate fandoms who will pay to see a film multiple times to spot as many of these Easter eggs as possible. Many people enjoy that kind of secret knowledge, whether to feel like they’re a better audience member for noticing the minutia of a scene or that they’re a more avid fan of a film than the average filmgoer."
In Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), The Poolside Bartender Is Played By An Actor Credited Under The Nickname Dr. Toad, But His Real Name Was Robert Todd Williams, And He Was Robin Williams’ Older Brother. A Vintner By Trade In Real-Life, This Was His Only Film Appearance
For those wondering, vintner is a winemaker, potentially involved in the trading or selling of wine. Probably would have been easier for me to google that if I’d spelled it correctly the first time.
TIL that Robin Williams's middle name is McLaurin and he has two half-brothers named Robert and McLaurin.
In Forrest Gump (1994), Because Forrest Is So Fast, Nobody Can Tackle Him, Making Him The Only Player On Either Team To Have A Spotless Uniform
He runs so fast so he never gets tackled, hence he never falls in the grass or dirt, which follows that his football uniform is clean, even by the end of the game.
Load More Replies...In Frozen/Frozen 2 (2013/2019), The Only Time Olaf Bends His Elbows Is During His Own Dreams/Fantasy (See: “In Summer”). Otherwise, His Arms Are Always Straight, As Real Twigs Would Be
Due to the trickiness of Easter eggs, sometimes it's hard to rule out their authenticity. Boyce told us that most generally accepted eggs have a number of people agree that it is indeed an Easter egg. "That typically means the more obvious ones (i.e. the Star Wars references found in the early Indiana Jones or a blue Tobias Funke in Guardians of the Galaxy), more often than not, modern filmmakers are more than happy to confirm them. If the reference seems obscure – a shot that looks a little like a shot from another movie – you could always consider whether the filmmaker has claimed to love that other film and has a history of including such Easter eggs."
In Uncharted (2022) Nathan Drake And Chloe Frazer (Tom Holland And Sophia Ali) Wash Up On A Beach And Meet A Stranger Who Says Something Similar Happened To Him Once. That Actor Is Nolan North, The Original Voice Actor For Nathan Drake In The Uncharted Video Games
as a person who got the uncharted collection with my ps4 and then wouldn't stop playing I can confirm
Load More Replies...In Luca (2021), The First Time Luca Stands On Land He Exhibits A Medical Finding Called Gower's Sign. Classically Seen In Patients With Muscular Dystrophy, It Is Due To A Lack Of Strength In The Hip And Thigh Muscles Causing The Patient To "Walk" Up Their Body To Stand From A Seated Position
I almost do that now. With a genetic hip disease and so many surgeries, there is basically no "ball" left in my ball/socket joint on my right side (making it a couple of inches shorter, too).
Load More Replies...Oh God... That's how my ex would get up and I always told him he looked like a toddler when he stood up lol
Matilda [1996]: Miss Trunchbull Is A Corrupting Influence In A School, A Place Meant To Be Colorful And Joyful. She Competed In The 1972 Olympics, Planned To Be A Colorful And Joyful Celebration... Which Was Marred By Being The Site Of The Munich Massacre
This actress always gets cast in these horrible "Miss Trunchbull" parts (Harry's Aunt Marge) but she is a great actress and a lovely person.
Absolutely true. Same with the woman who played Umbridge. Lovely ladies. Extremely talented.
Load More Replies...Is it true that after she left the school she found a lucrative career as a dominatrix?
Everyone needs to go and see the new Matilda! It's amazing! I was at the premiere and already seen it again!
My schools were neither colourful nor joyful. And I was a student from 1992 - 2003.
Fun fact: In Tim Minchin's, Matilda: the musical, Miss Trunchbull is played by a man
There was a lot of doping going on then too. That was the first Olympics where they tested for drugs.
But why do filmmakers hide some details that are not necessarily contributing to the plot? Dr. Boyce explained that many modern filmmakers are passionate fans themselves and are the sort of moviegoers that like searching out Easter eggs. "They grew up as rapid consumers of popular culture and their work reflects that love. Also, do it, it seems, to directly appeal to those fans, fans who would be willing to pay for multiple trips to the theatre and (sometimes various versions of) collector’s edition DVDs and Blu-rays."
In A Beautiful Mind (2001), Marcee Runs Through A Group Of Birds
She isn't real. She is a hallucination, part of John's schizophrenia. Therefore the birds don't react to her presence and scatter
In Coraline (2009), You Can See The Phrase "Stopmo Rulez" On The Back Of The Moving Van. Coraline Was Made With Stop Motion Animation
Coraline is very scary and i will never watch again ( probably because im scared of everything) who's with me
Exactly, give me a comedy any day and I don' see how that movie is for KIDS it's traumitising
Load More Replies...In The Expendables 2 (2012) Dolph Lundgrens Character, Gunnar, Is Said To Have Achieved A Masters In Chemical Engineering Then Quit To Be A Bouncer In Attempt To Form A Relationship With "This Girl". All Of Which Dolph Lundgren Actually Did In Real Life. The Girl Was Grace Jones
I LOVE that they put that in the movie. It's a bit of trivia I'd read previously about Dolph Lundgren (the Chemical Engineering) - and I was just like "Really? Someone got waaaay more than their fair share of awesome points."
I love the story of the time his home was almost burglarized - until the burglars realized whose house it was and scrammed.
Load More Replies...A master's in chemical engineering at MIT, FFS! That's even more impressive! Another interesting tidbit about Lundgren: burglars broke into his home while his wife was there and had tied her up, IIRC. When they saw his pictures around the home and realized that's whose home they were trying to burgle, they untied his wife, apologized, and immediately left without inflicting any further harm or damage.
All of those old Chuck Norris memes could actually be written about Dolf Lundgren. The dude is amazing.
Lastly, Boyce shared that superhero films seem to have an abundance of Easter eggs and probably the most Easter eggs on average right now, in part because of the passion of the fan base and the wealth of material to reference (comics, television adaptation, previous film versions)."
In Hook (1991), The Flying Couple On The Bridge Is Actually George Lucas And Carrie Fisher. Carrie Even Worked On The Movie's Script
In Jaws (1975) - Quint Goes To Hunt The Shark In His Boat Orca. Orcas In Real Life, Otherwise Known As Killer Whales, Actively Hunt Great White Sharks To Kill Them
Ironically, killer whales (i.e. orcas) are not whales at all - they are closely related to dolphins.
There are two types of whales: toothed whales and baleen whales. Orcas (and dolphins) are a type of toothed whale
Load More Replies...Cool fact, they down sharks by flipping them upside down so they can’t breathe…
In Mr Bean's Holiday (2007), The Girl With The Stereo Is Played By Lily Atkinson, The Daughter Of Rowan Atkinson. In The Movie, She Is Also Named Lily
The Horses Of The Nazgul In Lord Of The Rings (2001) Have The Eye Of Sauron On Their Chest Riding Gear
Further fun fact: they put makeup on the horses to make them appear neglected, and the on-set animal cruelty prevention guy thought it was real and freaked out.
Wait, so how was he not involved in the make-upping of the horses if he was the cruelty-prevention guy, or how did he not notice the horses going from normal looking to neglected overnight?
Load More Replies...Chest riding gear. That's cute. They're called breast plates, or is BP too coy to use the correct name.
...I've seen this movie I don't know how many times, and I've never noticed that. Just watched it again recently, too! TIL!
In The Opening Scene Of Forrest Gump (1994), His Shoes Are Worn Out From Running Across The Country For Years, But He Wouldn’t Get Rid Of “The Best Gift You Could Get In The Wide World” From Jenny. But He Kept The Laces Fresh To Keep Them Operable
In real life he would wear out several pairs of shoes running that far...
You're right - I wasn't paying attention to someone's shoe laces.
Load More Replies...In The Batman (2022), You Can See A Bust Of William Shakespeare At Wayne Manor. This Is A Reference To The 1960s Batman Show; Bruce Would Lift Up Shakespeare's Head And Press A Button To Open The Entrance To The Bat Cave
At least you could SEE Shakespeare in the T. V. show
On The Batman Begins (2005) Soundtrack, Tracks 4-9 Spell Out B-A-T-M-A-N
That's a fantastic level of detail, and I appreciate it.

Load More Replies...In Zootopia (2016), Chief Bogo's Calendar Has A Picture Of San Fransokyo From Big Hero 6 (2014)
I’m still unclear about the San Franyokyo in Big Hero 6 - was it that the Axis powers won WWII and the world has since moved on and settled into harmony again?
No, it’s a fictional city, whose name is based of San Francisco and Tokyo. This is done both as a joke and to establish what cultures they used as inspiration for that city. There’s not really a deeper historical context.
Load More Replies...The Helicopter Pilot Seen At The End Of The Predator(1987) Is Kevin Peter Hall, The Actor Who Plays The Predator. John Mctiernan Gave Him The Brief On-Screen Role, Because His "Work As Predator Was So Exhausting"
He also played Harry in the movie Harry and The Hendersons. It was such a good heartwarming and hilarious movie.
In Black Widow (2021), Alexei Arm-Wrestles A Prisoner Named Ursa. In The Comics, Ursa Major Is A Russian Hero Who Has The Ability To Turn Into A Bear. Alexei References This By Calling Him A Bear
Well considering that Ursa in Latin means bear, and Ursa Major means great bear, this is not even surprising. It was most likely a nickname for him because of his shapeshifting ability and build...
Ursus is the latin name for bear. The grizzlys name is Ursus Arctos Horribilis.
Little Detail That Was Brought Back From Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 1 (2002) In Spider-Man No Way Home (2021). Willem Dafoe Wears Prosthetics As Norman Osborn, But As The Goblin Persona He Retains Dafoe’s Natural, Less Perfect, Teeth

My mother had a Delta 88; I don't know what year it was, but she bought a Cutlass Supreme in 1972, which she had til ~2010.
I had a Delta 88 Royal in white the same year I 'found' the son I'd given up for adoption. The funniest thing he ALSO had a Delta 88 Royal in white!!! What an odd coincidence!!!!!
It's in *every* Sam Raimi movie, as well as his tv shows. And yes, it makes an appearance in both Hercules and Xena.
In In The Heights (2021), This Elderly Couple Are The Parents Of Lin Manuel Miranda, Who Created The Original Stage Musical
Yeah, I was thinking that, too. I thought: "Maybe the music business runs in the family?".
Load More Replies...In Spider-Man No Way Home (2021), The Taxi Is Number 1228. This Is A Reference To The Birthday Of Stan Lee: 28th December
As with E.D.I.T.H from "Spider-Man: Far From Home"...even dead, Stan Lee is the hero, and making his cameos as best he can
He is a Legend, and I used to like it so much when he appeared in the movies as random roles.
Big Hero 6 has an after credits scene where Stan Lee is the father of the Dragon superhero character. That one is an Easter Egg as he had nothing to do with the movie.
Load More Replies...In The Exorcist (1973) This Face Pops Up For A Few Frames When Chris Macneil Turns On The Light After Returning Home
Wow, I never noticed that. Now I want to watch it again just for that.
Captain Howdy? This movie was "famous" for all the subliminal insertions? Did anyone notice the very quiet sound of swarming bees during tense scenes? Your brain did and made you squirm without thinking.
Any time I hear bees buzzing or swarming in movie, my body crawls. I remember in Hunger Games when Katniss is cutting the tracker jacket nest down from the tree branch, I have to fast forward it 😂
Load More Replies...I must have seen that movie many times, it was a classic back then 😁
This WASN'T in the original 1973 release. You do see that face in quick edits in the original release (when Fathe Karras is having a dream about his dead mother) but this quick flash of the demon was added in the 2000 directors cut. I LOVE THIS FILM!!!!!!?
Have seen this one no less than 10 times but I've never noticed that face either.
It's supposed to be so quick that it's subliminal (so I've heard).

Stu and Billy are wearing the boots we saw Ghostface wearing in the bathroom scene
Load More Replies...More info: Stu and Billy are wearing the boots we saw Ghostface wearing in the bathroom scene
Stu graphically describing how to gut someone was a pretty big hint too.
focus on the boots instead - the killers are having the same boots in the bathroom scene.
Load More Replies...They're wearing black shoes with *white* socks. That kind of fashion crime means they MUST be the killers! :-p
I was thinking it was when one said to the other “no one saying YOU did it” and a meaningful look before “thanks, man”
That was what I thought it was alluding to when I saw it on the front of the post. When Stu tells Billy, "Thanks buddy." In the actual movie I never thought it showed their feet long enough in that scene to notice the boots, lol, but I didn't try to pause it.
Load More Replies...I thought it was by revealing that the first victim was Stu's ex-girlfriend
How? All I see is the cast eating lunch. This in no way hints at the killers identity.
Read the other comments that answered this LONG before you commented. Spoiler hint (ha ha) Stu and Billy are the killers. In a previous scene, Ghostface (one of them in costume and mask) was seen wearing the exact same boots.

Basically every Pixar film does this. Disney in general often adds Easter eggs of other Disney movies in their more modern animated films

Wes Anderson is my favourite director, honestly love practically all his films, and his perfect style of making them. The Royal Tenenbaums has to be one of my favourites though - love all the actors, the plot and generally the whole movie :]
Have you seen the SNL spoof "Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders"? As a Wes Anderson fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

If they ever film a modern version of this film, Brian is probably the shy geeky kid who turns into a school shooter. It's not a flare gun he keeps in his locker. On a different note, I hope that Allison puts the Goth makeup on Claire.
I wouldn't call this an Easter egg, but maybe just explaining the movie?
I knew that. You can also see an old yearbook that has a picture of the janitor as a student.
In Mulan (1998), Barry Cook And Tony Bancroft, The Directors Of The Movie, Appear As Two Firework Handlers
In Back To The Future Part II (1989), One Of The Newspaper's Sections Has A Review For Jaws 19. And Judging From The Section's Title, It Ain't Good
Sadly, it also says "Qeen Diana," because she hadn't died yet. Oof. :(

Is it a good or bad thing that I already caught this myself because of how many times we’ve watched the Star Wars movies in my house?
It's a good thing. I didn't notice, so clearly a sign I need to watch them more!
Load More Replies...Um, minor detail, but "Star Wars: A New Hope" was released in 1977, not 1978.

In Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Jessica Appears Different In The Newspaper Than In The Original Patty-Cake Photo. This Is Because The Design Used In The Newspaper Was From Early Concept Art
Random Jessica Rabbit fact: They animated her breasts to bounce opposite the natural motion. So where on a human woman, while walking, her breasts go up, then down. Jessica Rabbit's go down, then up.
In The Royal Tenenbaums (2021), Mordecai's Dramatic Change In Appearance Was Written Into The Movie Because The Hawk Portraying Him Was Kidnapped During Filming
"According to [Wes] Anderson someone in New Jersey found the bird, kept it, and tried to get ransom money for it. Police became involved, and it took two weeks to get the actual bird playing Mordecai back. “It’s very complicated to fly birds in the city,” says Anderson. “It really shouldn’t be done.” "
That's sad and horrible. I hope the poor bird wasn't traumatized too badly during his birdnapping.

In The Hateful Eight (2015), The Pipe That John Ruth Smokes Actually Belongs To Kurt Russell. He Commissioned It From An Italian Company Named "Mastro De Paja". He Has Been Buying Their Pipes For Years
Another bit of movie trivia: When he destroys the guitar, he actually destroys an antique one on loan from a local museum. It was supposed to be swapped out for a prop one but Kurt Russel wasn't aware they hadn't. You can see the reaction on the actresses face, since she was aware of the mistake.
I had read about this before, but forgotten about it. It's truly horrible that happened. I'm sure the props people and whomever usually takes care of acquisitions such as this are usually very careful with items like that. It's such a crazy mistake.
Load More Replies...By this logic every low-budget film in which they wear their own clothes is full of easter eggs. *shrugs*
Clint Eastwood wore his own poncho in the dollars trilogy. The stories between him and Leone seem a little inconsistent whether it was his from beforehand or he bought it for the movies. Also, all the wild stuff they did to get those movies done on a shoestring budget is nuts. Including lying about who they were so they could borrow some equipment and shooting parts of it on a guy's property without asking. Fun stuff.

Aww that's so cool. I'm such a fan of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise also. The first two movies are excellent. The third one is a little less so than the other two but still a good watch if you really like the characters. I just really miss the captain in the third one, it makes a difference that he wasn't in the movie.
In The Credits Of Back To The Future (1985) There Is A Credit For A "Delorean Time Travel Consultant". The Credit Is For Ron Cobb, An Artist Known For His Science Fiction Work And Who Helped Design The Original Concept For The Delorean's Look

Same thing on " Ghost in the Shell 2017 " there is a scene on the movie where you see Batou feeding Stray dogs ( almost a frame by frame copy of the 1995 Animated movie ), one of those dogs os a Basset hound, that dog Gabriel is Mamoru Oshii's ( the girector of the original 1995 and 2002 GITS AND GITS Innocence ) pet dog, and despite the Rupert Sanders movie completly butchering Mamoru's master piece, it was a cute detail. ( Mamoru ALWAYS finda a way to " shove " Gabriel " in all his movies, Animated or not, there is ALWAYS a Basset hound named Gabriel in everything he touches.

This Is A Direct Quote From Agatha Christie, The Writer Of The Novels, Who After 40 Years Of Writing Had Grown To Dislike The Character
Christie did write him that way though. He does come off as incredibly pompous and his arrogance is overwhelming on occasions but he's always right. At times I do like that about David Suchet's Poirot, especially when he's confronting the villains that think they're more intelligent than he is.

Several years ago there was a man in my hometown that was going around to the craft stores and dipping his testicles in the glitter. It was pretty nuts.
Load More Replies...As Dr. Chilton's character appears to be so arrogant and likely narcissistic, I can see the orchids being used purposefully in that manner. The heavy masculine influence behind her makes perfect sense in his office. She does call out Crawford, her boss, at the funeral home when they go to see the victim in whose mouth they recover the Dêâth's Head Moth, and he tells her something to the effect of he's just trying not to upset the good ol' boy system there, but that he has the utmost respect for her and her capabilities. In Se7en (1995), The First Six Days Take Place In The City Where It Is Constantly Raining Yet On The Seventh Day, The Two Detectives And John Travel Upstate Where It Is No Longer Raining. This Directly Paralleled Dante’s Inferno. Explanation In Comments
From the original Reddit post: Dante’s Inferno, the first part of his three-part Divine Comedy a book that John Doe had deliberately read, follows the author Dante and Poet Virgil as they travel through the depths of hell. The Divine Comedy takes place through seven days as the poets journey through the hellscape and on the seventh day, the poets climb up Satan and out of Hell into clear skies as Dante writes, “And we walked out once more beneath the Stars”. This directly parallels the two detectives journeying out of the hellish rainy city into clear skies. The kicker is that Dante has to come face to face with Satan, literally coming to terms with the idea of sin and his personal sins, just like Mills must come face to face with Doe and realize his own sin was wrath. Sorry for the essay I just love Dante’s Inferno and this movie"
cont. "EDIT: s**t even more details I connected. Of course the two detectives parallel the two poets but even the nature of the two pairs are exactly the same. Both Somerset and Virgil live within their hellish worlds and are tasked with guiding the young men through the ins and outs of it. Both Somerset and Virgil are somewhat sinful yet virtuous themselves but their apprentices Dante and Mills are far more (Dante is hinted at being corrupt and Mills is wrathful) and must come to terms with this by facing Satan"

An actually good Encanto detail: In “Waiting on a Miracle”, Mirabel sings that she’d move mountains, make new trees and flowers grow, she’d heal what’s broken, and show her family something new. She moved mountains literally and figuratively when her argument made the mountains crack and when Abuela realized she was pushing everyone too hard. She made new plants grow when she helped Isabela find what else she could do. She healed what was broken when she fixed her relationship with Abuela, Abuela relationship with the family, and Bruno’s relationship with the family. And lastly, she showed her family that they could live in a way that made their powers a blessing and not a burden.
