That's very true, but people on our side of the fence saying "well, it's worse over there" or "that's their own problem over there" very quickly lead up to the same thing happening here. Yeah, I'm no religious scholar, but everything I've heard about what Jesus allegedly said seems to paint him as a pretty decent human being. It's so confusing to me that people who claim to love Jesus can be so unkind. But like I said, I don't know much about it.

They claim to love Jesus because it acts as a shield they can use to obscure how they truly live. It's kind of the same as republicans today claiming to be the "party of Lincoln". They do so because Lincoln is one of the most loved Presidents in this countries history and by claiming the party of Lincoln they believe it justifies them in their behavior or, at least, makes them seem not as bad as they are. The truth is that the party of Lincoln was one of liberalism and republicans of today would never stand for abolishing slavery the way Lincoln and his party did.
