Really, Xenon? I mean... really? THIS upsets you? It's a small. It of fun in an otherwise drudgery -filled day, FFS! There was another post on the Internet where a guy always put in addt'l wishes that he wanted a picture of Brendon Fraser in his room. He said it was months of asking different hotels he stayed (as a joke) but it finally happened and not only did it make him laugh every time he walked into his room, the hotel staff got a HUGE kick out of it! It LITERALLY made everyone smile! And you think this is a bad thing????

Asking as a joke is ok expecting it to be taken seriously is not.

It definitely depends on the hotel and how busy they are. And what management’s priorities on customer service are like.

Yes yes they do. However if a nice guest asks nicely to do something fun most places have a few employees that'll jump at the opportunity to do stuff like this.

As a former hotel worker....people with imaginations are the best guests. People like you....not so much.

Don't knock it! Depending on the housekeeping staff, it could start a running joke, kinda like Where's Waldo or Elf On The Shelf...

They didn't have to do it. But it was probably in the special request box when she booked the room, and since they had to make sure the room was ready anyway it wouldn't take anything to print off a photo and do something fun. The idea is to make your guests happy, and if that's all they ask for then why not?

Get Ratio'd. D*** dude, did the fun leave your soul? The maybe 10/15 minutes that task takes is done predominatly by reservations. The people prepping the rooms take 3 seconds to tape it somewhere. Mellow out and see how often the wonderful staff that take care of the rooms make fun towel animals or pose stuffed animals people leave in their room.

That was their favorite part of all the things. Unless the queen was visiting, they were happy to do it.

Personally from the viewpoint of service staff (nursing, catering, and restaurant), I love the request to be so snarky, and entertaining someone with a sense of humor!

They do, but as someone who’s worked housekeeping, things like this made our day. It breaks up the grind.

Maybe. And? If they can't do it, they won't. If they can, they will. It's good customer service, it's fun, it makes everyone laugh, and their management knows it's incredibly good PR. It's what gets a hotel the rep as going above and beyond, the kind of customer who asks for something like this generally tips really well, and it's a positive light moment. This is actually a brilliant business decision AS WELL and an entertainment piece.

Google Van Halen Brown M&Ms you put little things like this in your instructions when you book the hotel to see if they paid attention to more important stuff (ie detergent allergies, an aversion to alcohol, etc).

My thoughts. Like who was the poor person that was asked to go and hide it somewhere. 😑 People these days.....
