The problem with the world is the people who should be in power don't want power, and the people who want power shouldn't get it
Being kind is a gift you give to yourself as much as you give to others. It is infinite. You are infinite. Become the kindness.
Being nice to someone you dislike sometimes means you're a coward. And if you're mature, you know that some forms of behavior should not be tolerated.
There are such layers here. I don't believe in being "nice" to rude people. I call them out on it. If the dislike I feel is a visceral reaction, then my intuition is at work and I don't question it. Depending on surroundings, I either leave the area and/or keep short my interaction with the person and let them know NO - from the very first attempt to cross my boundaries. And if it's just me, a personal thing - I know too. Then, I am nice.
Just walk away. When you get older you don't need that s h I t.
With educational content on social media getting more and more popular, we often see information presented as “facts.” And while most of us are aware of the fact that every bit of information on the internet should be taken with a grain of salt, or rather a whole bag of it, often we fall into the trap of misinformation.
But why does it happen? Why are people so vulnerable to fake news and misinformation? Researchers suggest that confirmation bias may be to blame. Confirmation bias refers to our tendency to seek out information which confirms things that we either already know or that we believe to be true.
I don’t seem to have one then. I’ve always ended up with toxic people and nothing in me has ever told me that they’re the wrong person untill it’s too late and I’m hurt badly by them
The more you know, the more you wish you didn't know what you know. Flowers for Algernon anyone?
No wonder we are much more likely to believe “facts” that conform to our beliefs. In the same way, we may be tempted to turn a blind eye to facts that contradict our beliefs. Fake news seem to be using confirmation bias to its advantage.
It’s also important to note that social media is a breeding ground for the spread of fake news. A study from Stanford University found that 41.8 visits to fake news websites came from social media, compared to just 10.1 percent of social referrals going to top news sites on average.
“Fake news spreads so quickly due to factors that concern both the content of the messages and the technological foundation of platforms on which the news is proliferated,” Daniel Markuson, a cybersecurity expert at NordVPN, told Bored Panda.
In my experience, the poorest people are the ones who will give you their time, their heart and their last penny. The richest are the ones who make you not exist with their indifference.
“Fake news usually relates to current affairs and makes remarkable, emotion-inducing claims. This, combined with the fact that social media platforms collect data on what kind of posts users spend the most time on and feed them content with similar characteristics, provides the perfect conditions for the spread of misinformation,” he explained.
You probably have heard of claims that fake news spreads faster than real news. We asked Daniel if that’s true. “It depends on the quality of real news. Fake news tends to sound shocking, so naturally, people show more interest in it. However, if the real news is shocking or important enough to many people, it can spread as quickly as fake news,” he said.
Wish my friend would realize this. She could be much happier without her so called father in her life
When talking about fake news and misinformation, it’s important to note the role bots play in its spread. Daniel explained that bots are autonomous programs that are used to perform certain actions online without human interaction.
“Fake news is typically spread by malicious parties, which can develop bots to spread fake news. That is done to spread fake information more effectively by eliminating the problem of limited human resources,” the cybersecurity expert concluded.
I feel pretty blessed because tho I spend most of my time alone, I’m pretty satisfied with my company (plus my dog)
It’s human nature to want to confide in someone you trust when you’re having problems in a relationship. That doesn’t mean the whole relationship is problematic. We just don’t normally call to confess everything they’ve done to make us happy. So your friend loves that person for a reason, keep that in mind when they’re venting about a negative experience, it doesn’t mean it’s over.
Being alone isn't the same as being lonely. You can be terribly lonely in the midst of poor company
It's ok to say I love you a lot more. To anyone you care about. You might never see them again
Be with a friend who will help you up every time you fall. After they've stopped laughing and taking selfies
If you find it, keep it? If you value loyalty, then instead of just keeping it, you should also reciprocate it.
If you were born to make mistakes, maybe rethink a career as a nuclear physicist
I find that smiling to customers who are rude to you makes them doubt what they are saying and possibly even fear you. Its great!!
If the future love of my life finds me attractive bc of what I wear instead of my laugh/smile, aura, whatever then no thanks and come on !!! who has the time to dress up to the nines when they need to work, shop, pick up kids, get petrol, etc. My imagination just saw someone pointing to a beautiful dress and going "ooooooh, I wanna date that dress" LOL
All written by the same person with a very high opinion of themselves. Yawn. 🙄
Claim to be facts, are actually "self help/motivationnal" b******t posts
These are def not facts- most of these are just silly opinions and some straight up make little sense at all
That's 30 minutes of my life wasted on a load of trite b******t.
Most of these are the sorts of things they used to print on the back of bus tickets when I was a kid
This looks like someone opened the big book of bumper stickers and started taking notes.
some good ones, some trite ones, and a few BS ones. I'll give it a 10% good, 80% trite, and 10% BS.
I guess they left out the one that says "help, I'm trapped in a fortune cookie factory"
My mother taught me all of these things so many decades ago, I can't ever remember not living by them.
