Excuse the ignorance, are the inland ones on rivers or lakes? Also curious about the circular formation near the middle.

I think it's a mistake in the mapping, since UK's Bidston Lighthouse is the world's most inland lighthouse (just 2.4 miles from the shore). I get a similar dataset from OpenStreetMap by filtering for "Lighthouse", exlcuding pubs and hotels but not other businesses with "lighthouse" in the name. The one close to Wales is a consulting firm named "Lighthouse Personal Development Ltd"

There's at least 2 missing on here. Ardrishaig and Tarbert have lighthouses but they're not on the map.

I’m curious about this, because I don’t want to be a self diagnosing jerk, but I think I might have actual, clinical PTSD from my first arthritis flare: I can’t remember most of that period of time, leading me to believe I’ve blocked it out, minor flares cause panic attacks (once had an hour long freakout because my pinkie locked up, yay), I’m hyper vigilant about watching for pain, I avoid some activities I enjoy or would like to do out of concern for my health (ex. I’ve always wanted to try jogging, but I’m scared to because it’s high impact activity and that’s bad for my joints). I’m hopefully going of my meds this spring because I’m in full remission but I’m pretty scared to. Wish me luck.

If you have been on pain meds long term, please make sure your doctor properly tapers you off (I hope that's what the plan is since you say it won't be till the spring so maybe starting the tapering down now or soon). Much safer on your body since it can become dependent on them (which is NOT the same thing as addiction for anyone confusing the two).

Equity is what the German health insurance system tries to achieve: Everybody pays the same % of their wages (14,7 if I am not mistaken) into the insurances, but everybody receives the treatment they need, independent from how much you put in. The system is not flawless, of course, because of many reasons. One of them is that higher wages can opt out (they may not return if the wages drop!) and lower wages are more impacted by a percentage than higher. The Dutch try a different approach, everybody pays the same for basic cover (no opt out).

nope, its not..maybe ist was, but nowadays its equality they are aiming at, but miserably fail, because there is a paid option to get better service. For example universal healthcare does not pay for your teeth or for you glasses, private does, costs more than al lot of people are able to pay, especially if you work minimum wage. A two class health system isnt even equality, but is still better than no universal healthcare at all.

This is going to get a lot of downvotes but making baseball tickets free for everyone is not justice for the team and stadium

    iseefractals

1 year ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

They're seriously using a sporting event for this? That's a stadium, which costs money, as does the electricity it consumes, the food that's sold there, the athletes playing the game....which is why people buy tickets....to support all those costs. Everyone is capable of buying a ticket. Not everyone gets to buy a ticket. The answer is not to allow special treatment for those who cannot afford, or obtain a ticket. Let's explain it another way. You are a...lets say plumber. There are two customers who need to have all their pipes replaced. One person, can afford to pay up front for materials and labor. The other person, just can't afford any of it! The idea of justice being posited here would demand that either the plumber work for free and cover the costs of materials, or he jacks up prices on the other customer to subsidize the cost of the person who cannot pay. Doesn't sound much like justice does it? Equality of outcome, ignores the reality of circumstance to push a narrative.

Poster makes me wonder - since the three persons are watching the game from outside the fence it follows they have NOT bought tickets. Therefore: 1. it is the wrong example since it encourages a not quite right behaviour 2. the fourth panel is saying that paying for tickets is a systemic inequity. Is it?

This is interesting but how do we do it? If you think about it "justice" should be "equality" because all of us will be equal and the two in the middle are both "equity" so: Reality____Equity____Equity____Equality

Did you know that bats (the European ones, at least) live up to 30 years? considering their size (upper joint of the thumb for the mosquito-bat), that's absolutely amazing. I think (though I hadn't researched, so correct me if wrong, please) that in relation to size, there's not another mammal out there with that lifespan. We could argue that they're cheating, since their heart-rate slows to near-standstill during hibernation, but marmots and dormice (Glis glis) also hibernate very long and they only get to about half that age (15 ys for marmots, 9 for Glis glis)

The origins of serifs are calligraphic, an artifact of brush strokes and later nib-style pens. We find them in carved Greek and Roman stone inscriptions because those inscriptions were painted first, then carved. Sans-serif scripts were considered "grotesque" until the 19th Century.

This can't be fully accurate, or at least out of context. Maybe in a landfill setting or somewhere devoid of many of the microorganisms that help with decomposition, but the paper, cardboard and orange peel will definitely turn into compost quickly if put in a compost pile with other wet and dry matter. Just saying.

Compostable plastic is possible too. But it’s more expensive to produce, so it won’t be used to any meaningful degree until it’s required.

Frederick Banting famously said, “Insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the world.”, after he and his co-creators sold their patents to the University of Toronto for $1 each. He wanted everyone who needed it to have access to it - I wonder what he’d have to say about the situation now.

I don't see salmon berry there. It's a orangish berry, shape is like the Young berry, and it's not very sweet. Name is from its appearance of a bunch of salmon eggs. The bush it grows on isn't full of stickers, so when you find them, they're easy to pick. Not very numerous in the forest, and I'm not sure if you can cultivate them in your garden.

Ok, let's be real here...by what the world seems to be increasingly seeing in latter years, for some ethic groups and socio-economic groups, this is more a list of ways to get you arrested, beaten or killed by a U.S. law official, because I've seen these things get completely ignored and punished, and it's become a daily occurrence too. Add to that the number of trigger happy policemen you now seem to have, and the reality of saying the things on this post to a lawmen these days in the States, as unfortunate as it is, has got to be putting your life in your own hands

I'm not German, but have never been able to get my head around anything other than 5pm meaning 5pm. I've been known to be late, but like even yesterday when I was two minutes late for an appointment to have a car tyre fixed I was stressing about it. Late is late. (As it happens he kept me waiting for ten minutes finishing off with someone else, but only charged me ten francs for the repair, including removing and replacing the wheel (didn't take cards, said it was 15 but couldn't find any change to break my 20 franc note so rounded it down).

Jay walking is serious business and the polizei will ticket YOU when caught. (This does not include small unmarked back streets and side alleys.) However, this is also a shield for pedestrians as well as motor vehicles DO NOT have right-of-way at any marked pedestrian crossing. And, unless the foot traffic is really, really heavy, only on the marked crossing. 5 metres away and the pedestrian will get ticketed, On the crossing, the vehicle will get ticketed even if everyone on the scene, including the polizei, saw the idiot step into on-coming traffic.

I have never-ever in my life been ticketed for crossing the road at red or at the "wrong place", not in any place in Germany. (Obviously that doesn't go for cars). On the other hand, I've been ignored on the Zebrastreifen quite a lot, despite the law saying the cars have to stop. I think it's a clear "wo kein Kläger da kein Richter"-situation and most people don't care where you cross the road unless you endanger yourself or others.

It makes a huge difference when you are only playing for health care, and not having to provide profits for health care companies. Imagine what would happen is all of the people involved in 'health care' in the USA actually were providing patient care, rather than financial care of businesses. Think of all the people working in insurance, billings, debt collection, etc. Now imagine them retrained as nurses, radiographers, pharmacists, physios, surgeons, doctors, dentists...

All ya gotta do in the USA is say a 2% tax hike and they go batshit crazy! "I"M NOT PAYING THAT FOR SOME RANDO TO HAVE HEALTHCARE!!!" Yet they'll pay 12 K a year PLUS (!) deductables in the thousands because of course they'd rather pay out the wazoo than pay a little more in tax just to make the libs cry!

Incredibly oversimplified and not real cause and effect. For instance Single payer does not take into account negotiating a consistent, fair price for all. In the direct payer scenario, the person who makes $80,000 a year could be charged for an office visit $300 or more because 'they can afford it's mentality and business practices. The other method provides a 'contractual' synopsis that equalizes cost. So the patient who is only making $10,000 is given the exact same treatment without prejudice.

Another oft-overlooked part is this: it's cheaper for everyone. Regular people don't need to pay exorbitant bills. Businesses don't need to, either, and money they might've spent paying healthcare bills can pay other things. And, counterintuitively, it's cheaper for the government, too! Take Sweden, an elderly country, as a comparison. In 2022, it spent 113 billion krone on healthcare.[1] Given Sweden's population of about 11 million, that works out to 10,300 krone, or a little over $1,000 per person[2]. The US government currently pays a little over $5,000 per person (of course, it pays $0 for many people, this is an average).[3] The only people who don't like it are Big Pharma and insurance. That's it. For EVERYONE ELSE, it delivers affordable, high-quality healthcare, at reduced cost to businesses, taxpayers, AND the government. It's a perfect deal. Win-win-win. But we won't do it. ***SOURCES AND REPLICATION INFORMATION*** Data sources are as follows: [1] sweden.se/life/society/healthcare-in-sweden, [2] measuringworth.com/datasets/exchangeglobal/, enter '2022' as start and end year and pick Sweden as the country [3] cms.gov/data-research/statistics-trends-and-reports/national-health-expenditure-data/nhe-fact-sheet. Conveniently, all data is for 2022. I recommend having a calculator to crunch the numbers for you. The US population figure for 2022 is derived from Google's infobox, which ends in 2022. Note that the Census agrees it was about 333 million people: census.gov/newsroom/press-kits/2022/2022-national-state-population-estimates.html. The Swedish population was from Google, confirmed by checking scb.se/en/finding-statistics/statistics-by-subject-area/population/population-composition/population-statistics/pong/tables-and-graphs/population-statistics---summary/population-and-population-changes/. Population figures rounded. The way I got the numbers was by taking Sweden's number in krone and dividing it by the population of Sweden, then converting that per-capita number to US dollars. For the US, I took the Medicare and Medicaid figures, added them, and divided them by the US population. Be careful not to misplace zeroes when replicating, and thank you for trying to replicate and do a vital and often undone duty of fact-checking :).

In the US, it really depends what kind of job you have. I have a unionized job with a good contract and pay about $200 for my health insurance per month, and it's the top tier plan. The employer pays the rest. In Germany, I would pay about $1100 a month. Even with co-pays, I'm better off with my US health plan, and the medical care is excellent. The problem is that not everyone has a good health care plan, and that dependents add a lot of cost to the monthly pay.

The current system (in US) should also include that businesses also spend a lot of money on administering and negotiating their health plans.

Greek mythology has more value than any modern mythology (e.g. christianity). Most Greek myths were like Aesop's fables, they were about teaching a moral lesson.

    Lyoness

I think it's the idea that you probably won't wear it again for awhile, so if it isn't cleaned any sweat, dirt etc will essentially soak into the fabric and possibly damage it while it's stored. You wouldn't pack away a sweaty t-shirt, right? Same principle. As for silk I was taught that it needed cleaning more often because it's a thin, natural fabric and any stains (sweat etc) can be permanent if you don't wash/dry clean it.

I wore a nice bra to the salon to get my retouch and highlights and to stop at the grocery store to pick up wine and chocolate. Yes, spoiling myself a little but also grilled husband burgers for dinner. Max 4 hours on a pleasant day not sweating. Not washing the bra yet. I have at least 20 bras for all different occasions. Okay, apart from the ad-block, I might check out volume-scroll because that slide-bar is really annoying. As for sponsor-block: Well, the content-creators have to get their money SOMEHOW. And since pretty much everyone uses an adblock, the sponsor-blocks inside the video give them money to continue giving us some content. I am fine with that - I can just use the L- button to skip forward a few seconds and do so until sponsoring is gone.

Also useful is any add-on that provides playback speed control. Yes, YouTube does provide a speed control, but it doesn't work on shorts, and it takes some fiddling to use, and doesn't provide as much control (for instance, in one extreme case I was toggling between 1.5x and 2.2x in a conversation between a man with a thick Scottish accent I couldn't understand above 1.5x and another man that I could understand better.)

Good graphic for sure, reasoning for grounding the "dead" vehicle to bare metal is because they start leaking gases at that point, depending on battery type, and hooking both batteries together directly can cause a spark too close. Nobody wants a flare up like that. Plus, it helps to rev the "donor" vehicle to add some extra amps.

I asked some of my coworkers who come from India how many Indian language they speak, and not a single of them could state a definite number. It was more like '3 fluently, and I can understand one or two others but not speak them so well' or 'I think maybe four, or five, unless we count Hindi?' and 'not sure if they are all languages or just dialects'. It is kind of like Norwegians counting how many dialects they can actually speak!

Is there a chart of how much meat per animal is tossed every day? Separate for "could not be sold" and "customer didn't eat it and forgot to use the freezer". Killing animals for food is not always and in general bad, but if you kill it, you have to eat it. Otherwise it is not only an economical stupid thing to do, but foremost a crime against animals and abusing nature.

I don’t disagree in theory, and a food waste chart is a good idea, but also, meat is inefficient: it takes I think 10-15 calories of feed for every calorie of beef. Edit: it’s closer to 20-25, and don’t get me started on the wasted land.

I'd like to see a chart with wages alongside, showing how long you had to work to pay for those items at those points in history. I suspect that there wouldn't be much change for most of them.

Several people have charted this, and it's even more horrific than this chart (US, at least, not sure about other countries). For an extreme example, in 1980, a McDonalds Big Mac cost 50 cents, and the minimum wage was $3.80/hr, meaning a worker could buy just over 6 Big Macs for an hour of work. In 2022, the minimum wage was $7.25 and the average Big Mac price in the US was $5.81, meaning a worker can buy just 1 and a quarter Big Macs for the same amount of work.

I lived during several of these decades. Perhaps there were regional differences in pricing not taken into account, as well as whether the price was at the beginning of the decade, or later. I remember using a 10-cent payphone in the early 1990's, there were still a few grocers who had a penny candy section for kids, and you didn't include common things like gasoline, a newspaper... not very well done.

So, running the numbers: a movie ticket was 5¢ in the 1900s, 23¢ in the 1930s, $1 (drive-in) in the 1960s, and $10 in the 2000s. So the price increased by a factor of 200 in a century.

Actually, the .99 price point was a very early form of loss prevention, inventory control, and accounting. There was a fear that pricing something at 1.00 would result in the cashier pocketing the money, whereas a .99 item would mean that he would have to open the register and give a penny in change. Not a lot of registers printed receipts back then. Personally, I've always automatically rounded up when I see things like 3.99 to make it 4.00... I can't be alone, surely?!!

Since I was about 7 and asked my parents why they always had prices like $1.99 instead of $2, I have always very consciously rounded up in my head. Doesn't everyone? So, when it shows $1299 with the caption, "We think $1200 (not $1300)" sure that's no longer true. We all see through that trick these days, don't we?

People are going to pick up on 'advertisement' jargon subconsciously. For example, buy 2 for $3.00 versus but 1 get one FREE $3.00. Or the going jargon especially common at grocery stores is BOGO 1/2 price. The human mind has been trained to jump for the perceived saving. FREE, HAL-PRICE, SALE, CLEARANCE and others are all catch words that we act on.

Massage - I can't stand for strange people to touch me. I'm doomed to be unhappy, since the cure for being happy would make me unhappier.

You don't need much, 10-15 minutes a day is the minimum, that's one minute every hour for ten hours which is easily accomplishable (someone who also hates the sun). Also a walk around the block still counts as exercise.

I read a few months ago (probably in "New Scientist") that, while oxytocin makes us more affectionate to our "in-group", it makes us more hostile to others. I don't think serotonin and I get along. Before I was on my current antidepressant, I was on 4 SSRIs, but they made me feel no better or even worse.

Body positivity isn't about promoting or encouraging obesity, it is about people feeling worthy of love and self care no matter what their body looks like. People who feel good about themselves take better care of themselves, it's not hard to understand.

Pomodoro works really well for me, eating the frog just makes me frustrated. I personally do a couple small tasks to get into things, then attack the bigger things one at a time. Just kidding, I procrastinate until the overwhelming shame is greater than my desire not to do the thing.

I start with a small or pleasant task (like getting up to get a snack) and use the momentum from that to do larger, less-enjoyable tasks (well, now that I'm up I might as well take the trash out). Works better than anything else I've found for combating executive dysfunction.

Completely agree (even about the pillows and blankets - also comforter for me). I spot wipe the floor when it's needed. Other than that, I think I mop maybe once a year. I don't see a need to mop every week, unless you have lots of kids or dogs I guess.

My brother (Australian) went to the Museum of worst food in Sweeden (I think) and was slightly offended Vegemite was included. It was one of the things you could actually try. I don't think it belongs on the list, because if it is on toast like the image, it has butter and only a scrape of it, so it's not so strong a taste. That is how I would eat it. If it was like tourists do, thickly spread like it's jam, then I could understand it being as bas as the most mild on this list. My worst experience with vegemite was when I was young and you often give vegemite toast to sick children because it has so many vitamins etc. One day I had gastro and couldn't keep toast down so my mum made me what her parents apparently called vegemite soup, just vegemite dissolved in hot water. It tasted feral and actually made me feel worse!

I had to Google it because I wanted to know why beating the chicken to death was necessary. Apparently the bruising and blood brought up to the skin changes the flavour. Chicken already tastes pretty good on its own, I don’t think a hefty dose of animal cruelty is really making it that much tastier :( delicacies that cause suffering should be outlawed. Having a tasty snack to munch on is not worth being cruel and callous to poor innocent creatures who feel pain the same way we do.

TBF this chart is meaningless without more recent figures, and to make any association with American leaders you'd really need a lot more context. Taking your attitude would imply that Biden was somehow responsible for recent events there, which is no more or less accurate that Trump's claims themselves.

missing every terrorist attack that occured in israel. I could probably name said amount of israelis who died right now. Its thousands upon thousands of lives that ur shoving under the carpet. every last one no matter what side they are on is meaningful. These people have families who care about them. Not only is this statistic completely wrong on both sides of the story, it is very hurtful for people to see this amount being lessened when that person meant so much to them. Not everything u see is true especially if its bored panda. News is biased no matter what party it comes from. This is not the source to get your information that you may incorporate into ur daily life bc ull sound stupid. there are far more casualties that is what war does. The UN is never a good source. The government seriously? Every day even b4 october seventh I hear about car rammings, shootings, stabbings, rockets, missiles. This is inaccurate

This is obviously an emotional issue for a lot of people, myself included. As a Jewish Australian, my heart is breaking for the families of the hostages and the victims of the October 7th massacre. This is not to justify the pain and suffering of the Palestinian people, who are no doubt suffering terribly. What I, and a lot of people ask, is that people look at nuances- pain and suffering of people cannot be demonstrated and measured in graphs and data. Pain is not exclusive to either side. Neither is the blame. Please, fact check, have a look at who is providing you the information you are receiving, what is the source and what is the agenda. If we have any hope of ever finding a solution we have to see the humanity in both sides and stop following empy slogans.

It was decided after WWII that Israel should have their own country where it had been thousands of years before. So the region where Palestinians were already living was divided up. The lines of division have changed over time, by each side taking them by force. More recently, Palestine wants to be recognised as an official state with more power than they have currently, known as the 'two state solution' but Israel doesn't want this. Both sides have had terrorist attacks against each other at various times as well as official war movements/attacks. That is my understanding anyway.

Perhaps the important consideration is the violent massacres of Jews by Muslims before there was even a Jewish state.. perhaps the important consideration is the term “Palestinian” used to refer to all inhabitants of this land whether Jewish, Muslim, Christian, or other. Perhaps the important consideration is that the only sovereign state to ever exist on this land as a stand alone entity with Jerusalem as a capital was Jewish. Perhaps not falling for propaganda and invented terms like “West Bank” matters. Perhaps folks should ask themselves why the Arabs.(Egypt and Jordan) did not creat a “Palestine” when they controlled land here. Perhaps we should consider the deliberate tactic by Hamas to use people as human shields and accept all democracies would respond to a massacre and rape and kidnappings with the same or greater force. Perhaps we should stop being the useful idiots of terrorist propaganda

    Plenty Pineapples
    Community Member
1 year ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

Exactly. The Palestinian didn't exist as a peoplehood until the 1960s. At that point Gaza was under Egypt and the West Bank a part of Jordan. And yet, most israelis support a two state solution. It is the Palestinian leadership that rejected multiple offers for peace because they simply wouldn't recognise Israel's right to exist. At all. And to everyone talking about ethnic cleansing- have you ever wondered what happened to all the Jewish people who used to live throughout the middle east and north Africa? Approximately a million of them?

Most of us are lateral tripods so we get the callus on our middle finger. Usually called a writer's bump in the US. Mine was huge in high school since we hand wrote everything. It's still there but very small since now we basically type everything.

"Look at your past as an adventurous biography" is hilarious, considering that the guy looks like Darth Vader. "Oh, yes, butchering a temple full of unsuspecting Jedi and the little kids they were raising there with a battalion of mind-controlled soldiers that actually used to be our friends - such an adventure!!!" .... (I'm still shocked about the utter depravity of the movie's plot. Kudos for that daring cruelty)

Are we supposed to give out our passwords and social security numbers? Who cares if the rent is due, i'm feeling lucky and spending it all on scratchers! Wait...so all those anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers and january 6th "freedom fighters" have some kind of valid point? well duh. That's true in most translations. Take the Irish phrase: póg mo thóin. The literal translation is a little more ambiguous than that because of the brake down, thóin can also mean, "it sank" but because of colonization, in Hiberno-English/Irish, it means Kiss my A-s-s

Why do they have to use such meaningless measures so as to defy any comparison? How large is a large shrimp? (even assuming they mean a prawn). What size can of tuna do they mean? If you just quoted them all using a single weight measure, preferably grams, wouldn't it all be so much simpler?

    M O'Connell
    Community Member
1 year ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

A "large shrimp" is defined as 21-25ct per pound (so 18-21g each), tuna generally comes in a 5oz can (113g, drained weight).

I'm a little surprised about the evolution of braeburn. When I was a kid it was my favourite apple but adults only used it for juice, cooked or baked because the outside was full of rough patches and the apple itself always sour (but very flavorful) now the outside is just like the other apples and the sourness is no more this extreme it was....(We had many braeburn trees when I was a kid and made juice in fall with other families)

Khazar saber? Cool! The Khazars, by the way, *converted to Judaism*, a poor move in terms of persecution but really nice as usually people are converting away from us. Allegedly they were quite nice to Muslims and Christians as well but are now the basis for an absurd theory that modern Jews aren't 'real' Jews due to intermixing with the Khazars, and thus, claims of being indigenous to Israel are false. Never mind that there are lots of Jews who never left Israel and wouldn't have known about the Khazars, or that Khazar genes have been shown in multiple studies to have almost no influence on typical Jews (Jews from the region more so), and that Palestinian genes *also* weren't fixed in stone for the over-a-millennium between the end of a Jewish state and its reestablishment, but when did *sense* ever intrude into a conspiracy theory, especially about DA JEWS?

I think it has wired interaction with testosterone so it makes men more hyperactive and women more anxious (in general) It is easier to link hyperactivity with it than anxiety. It explain why after women joined psychiatry on mass they still under diagnose it in fellow women even today...

I'm not really surprised. A great deal of people in the US aren't from the US,, and most of the food eaten in the US is mostly going to be their native dishes There really isn't much "true American" food. Even that is mainly "americanized" versions of recipes brought over by immigrants. Canada didn't even make the list, so apparently we enjoy air & water.

Current paid (so not asked!) average prices in my region (southwestest corner) are 300k, in the whole Netherlands €470k. In my region you will be granted a mortgage of €315k for 30 years on basis of a total yearly salary of €70k, thus before deduction of taxes. Monthly payment is currently €1.5k. This is for a moderately insulated brick house of in average 120m2, 10 to 15 years old with a yard of 250m2.

Subaru is the Pleiades, the "Seven Sisters" star cluster. They adopted the name when they merged five other companies, I guess that's why the logo has only 5 stars, or maybe it's because of light pollution in the modern era, it's hard to see all seven of the sisters.

Fun idea, but very bad execution. For example: Sweden and Norway are MUCH more promiscuous than Germany and so much more than the US.. By being transparent on their ranking system however, some of the flaws can easily be identified. A more interesting and debatable score: The STD rate metric. I'd argue that in a more promiscuous country, sexuality is an easier topic to talk and educate about. Plus without stigmatization the availability of e.g. condoms is much better. Hence I'd argue for the opposite : Less STDs = more promiscuous, not the other way around. (Same goes for teen pregnancy rate, which isn't part of it here. Less pregnancy, more promiscuous and educated)

It's that with the birth and rise of Christianity, it became more and more criminalised to not be hetero. Now that the influence of monotheists religions is declining, that countries separate church and state, that people are more and more open-minded and that being LGBT is less and less illegal in countries, people can begin to say proudly and without danger who they are (and that's awesome !)

We encourage people to look out for symptoms of stroke, diabetes, etc, so why should people not be encouraged to understand what their mental health symptoms might indicate? As someone in the medical field I can tell you that charts like these help people identify issues early on & seek help with a good awareness of what they may/may not have. This in turn helps us treat them better cause, for starters, they sought help & can understand they have a problem. A person can suspect that they have some condition but to receive an official diagnosis they should still get professional advice. Having some symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean you have the condition you’re thinking but it can raise awareness of one’s health issues. The problem you’re complaining of lies when people solely depend on Google for any diagnosis, be it psychiatric or otherwise, & stick to that diagnosis without expert advice and/or despite being proved otherwise. This chart itself indicates that it cannot confirm a diagnosis.

I'm almost 60 and I suspected I had either ADHD, Autism, or OCD. The doctor made me do a list; I had 4 pages of examples in just a few days. He said that I surely have it but do I really need to go see a specialist since I seem to be a functional whatever and it's not affecting my love and family life. My kids and husband just go with it. I start 5 conversations? My husband is going to ask me which one is more important to finish. I act funny? My youngest will say: "Dad, your wife is acting weird again" (I am his mother, LOL). My oldest son asked me if I wanted to identify as such, like saying "well, I'm acting this way because I'm ..." Sometimes it just becomes an excuse.

I agree that people shouldn’t officially call themselves neurodivergent like it’s just a trendy thing until they can get a proper diagnosis, but sometimes, self-‘diagnosing’ is the first step to getting to see a professional. I have ASD (diagnosed at sixteen, female, and I was THE stereotype of girl perfectly masking as neurotypical), and I’m now waiting for February to roll around to have my first meeting with a professional to start checking if I also have inattentive ADHD; I wouldn’t be having that appointment if I hadn’t personally thought ‘hold up, some of my problems don’t seem to be entirely related to ASD, maybe I should go see someone so they can confirm or deny it’.

I didn't see anything about the crotch or butt areas. That must be part of the heated areas. A little spritz never did any harm.

Is there anything on this map that's still standing after recent, (and ongoing) events? 😬

Israel has become what it sought to escape. Disappointing, but not surprising. Not the first time it’s happened, and won’t be the last.

Having either sadism or masochism, you'd hope that the other is not far behind. And BDSM as a general while most others are quite specific makes me wonder a bit.
