Who's so confused that they downvoted Kim? When I travel between the Hudson Valley and Long Island I usually take the train because it fits my somewhat flexible schedule. A bus and a train could do the same thing. For most of my local travel. OTOH buses don't work well when they work at all. Buying frozen foods when I shop? There's waiting before and after shopping or I risk waiting for the next bus while stuff thaws, and then it's 1/4 mile walk home from the stop. Most of the places I want to go a bus won't get me closer than 2 to 5 miles or more. On some buses I can take a bike, but there's no bus that will let me bring my kayak.

the irony is that the whole bus infrastructure would likely improve if more people used it, but no one wants to use it because it sucks right now

This. 100% this. Busses in my city only run every hour, and only run from 6am to 6pm. Except for one intercity route, which runs every 2 HOURS, and stops at 7pm.

One time in my life I lived 3 blocks from a bus stop that took me within 2 blocks of my job in 20 minutes without transferring. It was glorious.

It depends on the city. Many New York city residents don't own a car and the subway goes everywhere they need to go. Things like subway systems and extensive rails systems require a country that does not spend most of its tax dollars on a military to control the world.

Seriously. I'm in NY state and just getting to the nearest bus or train station would be a 25 minute car ride. And I'm too far out in the boonies, we don't get Uber or Lyft.

Walk? Or cycle? There are other options for such a short distance. Understand that the infrastructure might not be there for you to do so safely. In walk my son to school and then cycle to work. It takes 20 mins in the car, 30 min cycling

And then they'll tell you they reduced the service because you didn't need it.

Looks like lemon cheesecake to me. Now I'm both hungry and jealous.

There is a big difference between selective breeding of plants and adding foreign genetic material (from totally different species) into plants.

Much of the GMO is splicing unrelated genes into a plant - most vegetables do not ever get fish genes

So far there has been zero studies that found any health problems caused by eating GMOs. Any person who has an allergic reaction to a GMO plant food also has an allergic reaction to the non GMO version of that food. The allergy came first.

They're ths same people who say chemicals are bad
