This is an awesome idea, it's great as long as all that trash and debris is disposed of properly, so it doesn't eventually end up in the water supply anyway.

Do you know the capital of Australia? Many people mistakenly think it's Sydney, but the real answer is Canberra! Established in 1908 as a compromise between the rival cities of Sydney and Melbourne, Canberra was designed specifically to serve as the nation's capital.
It’s not just a political hub; the city is home to stunning architecture, including significant government buildings like the Australian Parliament House, all set against beautiful landscapes.

In a historic move, Australia became the first nation in the world to grant women the right to vote in federal elections back in 1902. This groundbreaking legislation was a significant step forward for gender equality, inspiring similar movements across the globe.
Australia’s progressive stance not only empowered women at home but also set a powerful example for other countries striving for equal rights, highlighting the importance of inclusivity in democracy.

The Dingo Fence, the longest fence in the world, built to keep kangaroos and dingoes away from crops, runs through Queensland and is approximately 5,600 kilometers long. It is not just a mere fence; the structure symbolizes the country’s lasting determination to effectively manage both its farm fires and wildlife.

While many of us are familiar with the iconic kangaroo, Australia is actually a treasure trove of unique wildlife you won’t find anywhere else in the world. Take the incredible platypus, for example—a truly fascinating creature and one of the few mammals that lays eggs!
This quirky animal is just one of the many wonders that make Australia’s wildlife so special and captivating.

Only In Australia: A Plant That Can Cause Severe Pains For Over A Year!!
According to wild life officer Ernie Rider, who was slapped across the torso and the face in 1973:
“For two or three days the pain was almost unbearable; I couldn't work or sleep... I remember it feeling like there were giant hands trying to squash my chest... then it was pretty bad pain for another fortnight or so. The stinging persisted for two years and recurred every time I had a cold shower...There's nothing to rival it; it's ten times worse than anything else.”
There is a garden plant quite common in the UK and presumably other countries, you do not have to touch it, just lie underneath it and you will be dead within ten minutes.
This plant didn’t want to be outdone by Australias notorious Taipan.
Maybe if the guy whose kid broke that vase came into this museum, the kid would finally learn not to touch anything and the guy might learn to watch his kid.
So even the plants in Australia are out to get you. Sorry, guys, I'm scared of Oz.
I love how gloriously laconic the guy's description is. That's 100% pure Australian-ness right there.
There's an urban mith that some tourist died after wiping thier a*s with one of the leaves
Google the Manchineel tree. Being underneath it in the rain gives nasty chemical burns. Every part of the tree is toxic.
I wonder how many Darwin awards have been given out to idiots trying to touch the plant despite what the sign says? I’d wager more than one
I forgot that plants are just as dangerous as the animals, birds, insects, and arachnids, in or out of the water.
The UK has Giant Hogweed where it's SAP olis photo-toxic. If you touch it you will suffer from burns and the consequences can last longer than months (there are reported cases of years) . There is a reported case where the Touch was indirect, as in the dog brushed the plant and the owner got the burns after touching the do. She didn't realise he had brushed his fur when passing some plants. The plant can give you 3rd degree burns.

Australia is home to one of the longest-standing uninterrupted cultures on the planet, thanks to Aboriginal Australians who have inhabited the land for over 65,000 years.
Their rich cultural practices encompass a multitude of languages, art forms, music, and traditions that are deeply intertwined with the natural environment, which are inseparable from the natural environment.

Almost a decade ago my sister used to work for a mobile service provider. For certain areas where service was really bad they were told to inform the customer that a new tower is being built so soon the problem will be resolved. One such time the caller asked her 'you have been building the new tower for 2 years now, why can't I see it yet.' She was on notice period (toxic boss, unsupportive upper management, you know the usual reasons). She told the customer that we are lying and it's better he switch to another company.

In between pictures 9 & 10 you state Australia was the first country to give women the vote at federal levels. You are very wrong. Aotearoa New Zealand was the first to do that in 1893, 9 years before our Aussie neighbours
I'll be visiting within the next 3 years. What do you recommend? I love nature and mountains. Wild animals too
Load More Replies...The only thing I take away from this is that it's mildly reassuring to know that pretty much everyone is well f****d off with their own country at the moment.
I agree!! Food prices are outrageous here in the US.
Load More Replies...While I think Australia is a beautiful country overall, I still can't get past the huge spiders!!!! I will just take y'alls' word for it.
Big spiders are generally okay...it's the little black ones with red dots on their backs you need to watch out for and stomp on.
Load More Replies...I hope to visit Australia and New Zealand someday, hopefully soon! The land is incredible, the people are awesome, and their accents are just..aahh, indescribably amazing to my dumb, uncultured American ears 😹 the most International travel I've ever had has been to Vancouver, Canada (not dissing Canada, I absolutely love Vancouver, I've been a few times as it's only about a 3-hour drive from my home in Tacoma) but I really do want to travel further, I'm just working the "American Dream" lol 🫠
I was lucky enough to go to Vancouver in 2019 and it is very similar Melbourne (although we haven't legalised weed so that is one stench not as prominent).
Load More Replies...Sorry! Last country I would visit. It's a beautiful country and the Australians seem friendly... but too many insects, dangerous animals and crabs for me! 😅😱 I prefer our geese and skunks.
A country so hot but all the water is filled with crocodiles, snakes, sharks, and giant crabs that look like spiders?
We also have 9 out of the 10 most venomous snakes in the world. And you can't forget things like box jellyfish (invisible, deadly jellyfish in the tropics), and blue ringed octopus... let's just say it's much safer to stay out of the water!
Load More Replies...Thank you for writing such a positive article about Australia! I love the beauty and humor. Imagine if someone wrote something nice like this about the US.. unfortunately, this site doesn't seem to be about that. - That said, some of this stuff is freaky af and would scare the bejeezus out of me. But it's so beautiful it might be worth dying from a snake/spider/platypus/bug/plant/crab/shark/etc encounter just to see the good stuff and have fairy bread. 💙
Tasmania DOES have snakes, and they are also pretty venomous, but because of the different climate there are not as many species of them, same with the lizards.
