The incomprehensible notion is the fallacy of The Constitution of the United States of America. Paragraph two begins; "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness...." Who is kidding who, US achievements, wealth, and advancements were made on the backs of the downtrodden. Withholding rights to specific groups of people is not a reflection of the all men are created equal. There are a few shining moments in US history reflecting the true meaning of what the country was supposedly based on, Einstein's example is one.
It is a reflection of all men who count since blacks were deemed to be only 3/5 of a person. Women were not included in the "created equal" either at that time. They were subsumed under their fathers or husbands. When you have to enshrine voting rights for blacks and women, the Constitution does mean "all men are created equal "

He did work with women, too. He met his first wife when they were both studying (Physics, I believe) at the university. He also cheated on her, though, left her and the kids for his cousin, forced/bribed for divorce, and kept cheating on wife #2 (said cousin) with whatever pretty woman took him up. He was a great, intelligent, and witty man, fighting for peace and against racism - but he was definitely not a saint.
