This Instagram Account Exposes Influencers Who Lie About Their True Appearance (30 Pics)
Don’t believe everything that you see on the internet. We’ve heard that dozens of times, right? However, it’s something that we should always keep in mind to stop us from comparing ourselves to influencers and celebrities who not only look ‘perfect’ but also live a constant life of thrill and adventure.
The ‘Beauty False’ Instagram account is dedicated to showing you the truth about how stars look without layers of makeup and excessive photo-editing. The difference is striking (and a bit comforting because we can make our expectations for ourselves more realistic). Scroll down, have a look, and share your thoughts about how some celebs hide their true selves, dear Pandas.

With over 994k followers, the ‘Beauty False’ account is a real heavyweight on Instagram. The fact that it’s so popular shows that there are plenty of social media users out there who need reminding that what they see in their feed isn’t actually all real.
We get it, some famous people create personas for themselves and need to stay in character. That’s why they tend to use so much makeup and have their pics airbrushed before publication.
However, they also have a responsibility to their fans who might be impressionable and start disliking themselves for being less than ‘perfect’ and not enough like their role models in fab photoshoots.
The fact is, it’s difficult to live your life by modeling it on your fave stars if they’re known for polishing up both their looks and the story of how they shot to fame.
For one, there are few celebrities who are honest and open about who they are and you will rarely get to see who most stars are really like as people. Not everyone is Keanu Reeves or Tom Hanks!
Secondly, while there’s nothing wrong with wanting fame (it’s a very human thing to desire), we should have realistic standards about becoming stars. People won’t become celebs overnight and they need to have down-to-Earth expectations about their own abilities, as well as the time it will take for them to reach their dreams.
People tend to want to hide their flaws because they’re insecure. We forget that celebs, for all of their achievements, are still human and can have trouble accepting how they look, too. While it’s great to see just how huge the difference between ‘real’ and ‘fake’ celebs is, we shouldn’t be too quick to judge. What would we do if we were in their shoes, honestly?
she's a makeup artist??? why is she being bullied for not wearing makeup?
She's contouring like a boss. I'm looking for filters to hide my new unibrow, 'home-cut' bangs, and quarantine mustache.
I don't think this one is so much Photoshop I think it's just without make up...... make up is the worlds best magic trick
Love the girl on the right. Can't take any more of this fake b.s. - as said below, WHYYY???
Almost all women have either boobs or a butt. Some of us are 'blessed' with both, some of us have neither ... she's the latter one.
Yall know the pic on the right was just a few months ago? Meaning her daughter was born around 2 years AGO at the time of this photo? She was then accused of doing a mock paparazzi shoot of her all dressed up to "run errands" just to make up for the bad press these photos gave her... because these showed us the KJ that she dont want us to see lol.
I still don't understand how these people are "influencers." How, what and whom do they influence?
this is a legitimate question, so instead of downvoting, i shall try to provide an answer. they pander to impressionable (mostly younger) people and set unattainable beauty standards using makeup, photoshop, etc. then they get paid to promote brands that allegedly help normal people reach the impossible standards. that's why they're called influencers: they influence their followers to buy brands. they exist almost purely for marketing purposes.
Load More Replies...Poor women. They must feel so bad about themselves. They can’t even live up to their own pictures. So many older women (relatively, as they’re only 30+) trying to look like teens or early twenties, it’s sad.
To all the women out here. All of you are beautiful. There is no need for any one of you to Photoshop anything. Those who say otherwise, to hell with them. Just be confident and smile. It will make you all look even more beautiful.
thank you! and also with that i’d like to add that being self conscious about your body isn’t only something that happens to women. all the ‘fake instagram posts’ on bored panda have primarily featured women when men also have body images issues. love the body you have and treat it well! as long as you are healthy (healthy doesn’t mean eating nothing) then you don’t have any reason to edit your pictures and you shouldn’t feel the need to. so all the women out there, you are all beautiful, and to all the men out there, you are handsome, and to every gender in between, the same. the best look on instagram is always confidence :))
Load More Replies...Whoever compiled this list, seems to have too much time on their hands.
Most of it was most likely stolen from Reddit "instagram reality". Its a treasure chest of side-by-side photos like these
Load More Replies...Do good for people, live in peace, be kind and your beauty will shine no matter what you look like.
I get that TikTok is an irritating attention seeking nuisance but I really do believe that Instagram is a way uglier beast.
Why are there even 'influencers'? What good are they, and do they really fool anyone? Who has even seen anyone in real life that looked like that? It's obviously make-up and a lot of photoshop.
There are influencers because people are influenced by them. If people ignored them, they'd go away, but instead, people follow them, and try to emulate them. Not sure who those people are (I don't know anyone who follows these types), but there must be lots of them, because many influencers make a lot of money. Sad, but true.
Load More Replies...Lol, all I can say is that I feel sorry for all of them.. If how they look is the only important thing in their lives... well, yeah.. most of them would've been much more beautiful without the crazy eyebrows and those awful garden hose lips.
Honestly seeing all the beautiful women in social media makes me feel like s**t about myself and like I’m not pretty enough but after seeing this post I realized that they’re normal just like the rest of us.
Way to work on your s**t, for real! Please remember this next time you start comparing yourself to them - you're real & I bet you're gorgeous
Load More Replies...this is essentially body shaming you cut these people down bc they are trying to look perfect for you, im not saying photo shop is good but when you shame the left side for trying to look like the right they are gonna try harder. just mind your own damn business
Notice it's all women cuz women are targeted by society that says you're not pretty enough
many of these pictures are just the before and after a nice makeup, and IDK about you, there is no fault in makeup magic. there could have been a heavy use of photo edits, but still.
Friendly reminder that the point of this was NOT to body shame what they actually look like; it's shaming the photoshop. I'm surprised at how many people are being @ssholes in the comments, making fun of their actual bodies. The photoshop is the issue; the photos on the right are actual bodies (minus the terrible makeup and plastic surgery, in some instances).
Whats it with women in making their waists look tiny and their butts look big? Why do they edit those parts of themselves instead of accepting their true form, and influence people that with this body you are still beautiful? But then again its just my opinion.
When they're having a photo shoot, they have pro hairstylists, makeup, wardrobe, etc. Of course they're going to look over the top. I feel sorry for the girls with the really crappy complexions - if you stopped wearing all that garbage on your face, it might actually recover. It's the extreme photoshopping that I find so offensive. Oh, really? Your boobs are a 42 DD and your hips are 40, but your waist is 19"? You look ridiculous.
Joking aside, these girls look so much prettier without their makeup. Can't we have a year where celebs go without makeup?
OK, this is kind of an obnoxious thing except that the "influencers" are lying to their followers in most of these cases. The obnoxious thing is the idea that their doctored/posed/processed images are beauty and their normal-human are not. Many of these "false" images are unpleasant expressions, or photos at bad angles and lighting, and the "beauty" images are perfectly made-up, lit, and posed, and then may have had a few hours of photoshop to "perfect" them. In reality, with a better selection of not-staged-and-processed photos, most of those women could be judged as physically beautiful, but not as artificially beautiful. The problem is the false idea of perfect skin, perfect thin, perfect shape and proportion, and some downright fugly fashion choices. Green lipstick on dark or pale brown skin (normal human tones) is not even remotely attractive. Especially electric lime green. And that's just one of the sins. The other sin is that they are marketing tools. Don't be a tool.
almost this entire thread comes across as "women pose for pictures in ways any model knows to highlight specific body parts and how dare they look normal when not posed to show off!" XD ah well c'est la vie
I had to stop looking at these- it just got too depressing and disturbing. I really wish that some people would stop glorifying this "Influencer" trend and fake celebrities like the "Karplasticans". So many of these women are already really beautiful without Photoshopping themselves into lifeless Androids.
They beauty pics look so obviously fake like cartoon facetune, who would believe it in the first place?
These people have a seriously unhealthful obsession with body image--as do their followers.
I don't deny that most of these are ridiculous. But A lot of these are just a change in makeup, lighting, pose and outfit. There's a reason why photographers, makeup artists, stylists and editors exist.
To all wondering why, guess it is to acquire some social fame, and possibly an income from products placing and views. At this extent, it sound the only reason I see to paint yourself as a disfigured clown after a bad car accident and magically appear - with doubtful results - flattened like a magazine cover. There are those influencers and some makes very good income, but please, not the ones looking like they have a lifeboat in their lips.
This is why I try to stay away from internet dating. I prefer to meet people in-person.
i always wonder, do these people dont have friends, family on instagram etc.? people who know how they really look like? once i tried to edit a pic of me and everyone was like: who's that???? i thought the changes were minimal - fail! this was my last try to look better via photoshop..
All those people need to denied internet access for the rest of their lives!
They all need therapy, and not instagram. Sadly, they don't think they have a problem..
and you wonder why these people photoshop. its all bc of people like you EliZaBeTh your not the f*****g queen of england smh
