To find out more about the “What The Crazy House” project, Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind it, Robyn from Ohio. “I’m married with 2 kids and I work part time at a shoe store,” she told us. Robyn said that she has always loved to look at houses. Once, she saw a space bedroom which became her first post. “It was unbelievably wild and I thought that I see weird stuff in the houses I look at all the time.”

That’s how she came up with an idea to put them all in one place and start the page. “On a whim one day, I made Whatthecrazyhouse. I don’t even think I remember how I came up with the name! It was just a split moment decision,” the creator said and added that she started “What The House” back in February, 2019 but she really didn’t get a following until this past year.

I bet they had to raise the floor due to pipes and needed to make the kitchen as small as possible due to space. Then they did the next logical thing (obvs 🙄) and made a gazebo.

It seemed weird at first, but I run a daycare in a small home - and this visual separation would be AWESOME to have. The decorative parts of the gazebo could be used to hang things on and I like the look.

I'd guess the floor area was already raised (maybe it was formerly a lobby to the outside. So to make it look tidier and safer (fall risk when walking around cooking and forgetting the step) they added the railings?

I actually think it is kind of cute, if it is a small house/appartment it is a way to sepearate areas. Also easy to make kids/pet safe (for as long as they don't climb/jump and that missing spoke is fixed)

Exposed OSB is not a great material for cabinetry. I guess if you wanted to do it for relatively cheap and you weren’t trying to pass it off to abother buyer, you could cover it with vinyl, and I guess it works. As for the splintering, yeah, I imagine you could really jack your hand up with this setup.
