Today, March 8th is International Women's Day. And what better way to celebrate it than to shine a light on the famous women who have contributed to society with their talent, perseverance, and timeless wisdom.
Women's day has emerged as such in the early 1900s from the movements for women's rights. Much has been achieved since those days, but much remains to be done in the fight of gender equality. To quote a historical figure by the name of Golda Meir, "Whether women are better than men I cannot say - but I can say they are certainly no worse."
Bored Panda has compiled a list of inspirational quotes of many great women. Do you have your favorite women's quote which is not here? Then upload it to the list, we'd love to see it! Don't forget to vote for these strong, confident woman quotes!

Yes, some women are difficult to understand. Complicated yet interesting to most men. Both should find their match.
Ahh… I don't understand why SOOO many people are diss-ing these quotes. I mean, sure, you're allowed to not like the person, but that doesn't mean everybody else hates them too! I am grateful we have women in our world today –and in our past – who have fought, not just for the independence of women; but for the world. I'm quite sad that so many of our world cannot, or will not, see the amount of courage some –if not all– these women have. The courage that everyone has if they take a step forward. Although I do not agree with all of these quotes, I find many of these to be inspirational and are relevant to my life, to my world.
What? Are you the male version of me? We share the same name!
