Over 20 years ago, I was struggling to make ends meet and needed to decide whether to stick with my dream of supporting my family as an artist or getting a 9 to 5 job.
One morning, sitting in my studio – I got it! I called my wife (who is an artist herself) and told her about my idea – painting on multiple levels of glass. The following week we took some pieces I made to a show and sold out! :)
Each painting includes several layers of glass separated by interior frames. The depth creates a game of hide-and-go-seek. Light and shadow create the illusion of movement.
I’d like to offer all you, Bored Panda viewers, 50% OFF any of our Limited Edition paintings. Coupon code: BOREDPANDA and the offer stands until June 7th.

Load More Replies...reverse glass painting is not unique and has been done for many years Nice work though
These would need to be seen in person,I think, to get the full effect. Would love to see them

Very cool! Could you post a photo of it? If you can't here, maybe through Facebook?

When I was a kid we used to get in trouble for stealing the overhead blanks and doing drawings that moved. Oh but yours are perfection!
That's a very creative "mischief!" Thanks for your feedback :)
Load More Replies...The artwork feels like it has grown directly from the influences of some masters I have seen
Definitely influenced by the masters, though I think the artist who had inspired me above all others is Bob Dylan :)
Load More Replies...The first thing that captures my attention is the way you use the first pane to extend the piece beyond the mat frame around the work.
Thanks for your thoughtful comment! I usually start working with the middle level of glass and work my way forward and back, building up the image to maximalize the depth :)

Hi, I have just created account only to be able to write you, that I love your art. Not so much because of the technique (although the 3D effect is amazing). What I love most about it is the style of your painting, the things you paint, it speaks to me...
Stunning mastery of an age-old glass technique, very beautiful and original!
I would love to see these paintings in real! This is breathtaking, so magical... I have goosebumps. What makes this even more special for me, is the fact that I know what it's like to paint on glass. You have to do everything "in reverse", which adds an extra layer of difficulty, but in the end, the result is absolutely out of this world!
Beautiful artwork! I especially love the window views. Do you have a collection on display anywhere besides your studio (like in museums or galleries where the pieces are sold)? Also curious how often a pane of glass breaks while you're still painting... but you probably are very carefully not to let that happen. Cheers from Boston MA!
Not that original. Disney did the glass painting when making Snow White in 1936
I knew about this technique long ago but it's beautiful no matter what

Hi! When I'm working out the design I like to use DecoColor extra fine tip paint markers. For some colors I use enamel paint. Often I use acrylic as well.

Ok, this is absolutely beautiful, but is not an innovative technique, Walt Disney movies were make like this many many years ago... So, yes, is beautiful, but not innovative. Anyway, congrats C. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdHTlUGN1zw
this is not innovative. actually disney used to use this technique in their old films
