Its so messed up. I know a girl who had an abortion, she didn't want a child back then and was in no position to have a child then either, she fell into a depression after. Its not an easy choice even for people who don't want children either. Had another friend who got pregnant and decided to keep the baby, had never wanted one before, had a miscarriage but it changed her body, her skin, hair and other things and she decided that she would never risk getting pregnant again. Pregnancy isn't just about giving birth and people seem to forget that

I'm not saying it was her only form of birth control, but I dated a woman who had had five abortions; she waited nearly a year into dating me to tell me this. Back when she was married and they knew she was pregnant, her and her husband went for a walk in the park and discussed whether she should abort her future daughter because she had done it all before. Some people use this as birth control for when their normal birth control fails or they fail in effectively using it. When we dated, she was divorced and a single mother with struggling with BPD that she refused to keep in check. Women like her should have options better than abortion. Five abortions is a bit much and was for her especially. She lived with so much guilt and not caused by those around her; she only shared that information with two people: her ex-husband and me. She lived with the guilt of, in her words, "killing my other children, my daughter's brothers and sisters".

I don't know anyone who objects to aborting a baby from the womb that is no longer living. What I and others object to is aborting a living baby.

There are always people who regret decisions, it's unavoidable, and no reason to not let people make those decisions in the first place. Besides that, there's no way to know how the alternative would have worked out.

Surely it's better to regret not having a child than regretting having one and not being able to care and love for said child the way all kids deserve? I adore my kids but they still frustrate me and it's damn difficult being a parent at times, I can't imagine how much harder it would be if I regretted and resented my child - all our lives would be miserable.
