I worked with the homeless for over 10 years. Most of them will refuse to take food or beverage that is not in a sealed container right from the grocery store. They have learned the hard way that people sometimes do unspeakable things to food or drinks before giving it to homeless people. I've heard stories from some of my clients about people peeing in their drinks, hiding cat poop in a hamburger, or even worse. I make sure I have packaged shelf-stable foods like granola bars or cheese crackers in my car to give to folks along with sealed bottles of water.

Reminds me of the video of some stupid people catching a homeless person in Vancouver, BC on fire for their amusement. Sickening and heartless

He's lucky he didn't do that in the USA. With the hate crime laws in the USA he'd be facing 10 years in prison without parole. And yes, crimes against the homeless can be considered hate crimes in the USA.
