My name is Ülker (but call me just Lyra) and I'm an illustrator based in Istanbul, Turkey. I work as a full-time child and adolescent psychiatrist. After work, I shapeshift into an artist!

There are three things I do to relax: drawing, cooking, and eating. So on the verge of an art block, I decided to challenge myself with character design. Combining two things I love the most seemed like a creative idea I'd have the most fun with. And I did!

Before starting with these drawing ideas, I had to do a little research about the specific food brands' or snack's origin, production process, and discovered so much more when people started commenting and telling me about their homeland's most popular food! Overall, this food art project was a very fun and sometimes mouth-watering experience (when searching for reference photos on Pinterest).

As a mental healthcare professional, I can't stress enough how important art is to our souls and minds. Your unique art doesn't have to be perfect - creating even the smallest thing that can make our day more meaningful.

I plan to add more cute characters to the collection, so if you're on a diet - beware!

This one is my favorite, even though I've never had Starbucks. It just reminds me of Kurt Cobain and the grunge era, which is all fitting, since Starbucks is originally from Seattle as well, as far as I know.

Gives a new meaning to meatball head. If you've seen the dubbed version of Sailor Moon, you know what I mean.

I'm surprised that spaghetti looks so... sporty. Carb loading for the win I guess.

I um... think it's just a skirt with a plaid pattern, it doesn't have to be a kilt. I'm Scottish and I didn't think it looked like a kilt, but I can see where you are coming from.

Sailor Spaghetti!!! Love this one. I think I would've liked the green next to black, rather than white, but it does resemble the Italian flag this way, so maybe it was intentional.

If jollibee's Hetty could appear like this, my countrymen would gladly swoon over.

Matcha is powdered green tea. Its special because it is differently grown and processed than normal green tea.
