Have you ever wondered what it would look like if your favorite characters turned into anime? Or if every movie, cartoon, or TV series had an anime of its own? Well, you can wonder no more thanks to a brilliantly talented Mexican artist named Brenni Murasaki, who is doing her god's work by doing just that.

Using famous series, films, and cartoons as her inspiration, she turns everything into anime one piece at a time. She faithfully sticks to the original while simultaneously transforming the illustration into anime, a Japanese style that's well-recognized and loved by many. Brenni uses a wide variety of source materials, like snapshots and memorable from scenes and such. She even adds captions to some of them, like the ones that you can see when watching anime.

The artist spoke to Bored Panda, and told us about how she came up with the idea: “It all came about because I wanted to practice and improve my style. I was really delighted with the '90s style that some of my favorite artists performed and I said to myself: Brenni, let's try it, and I thought that redrawing scenes from my favorite series would help me practice with the details of the characters and their color palettes. And then boom! I saw that my account grew, haha! It was something unexpected.”

I haven't watched Cartoon Network in awhile so...when did they grow up? And why?

For me, the artist's works create a craving for something which doesn't yet exist. Wouldn't it be great to see Burton's Corpse Bride or The Nightmare Before Christmas as an anime? Or see series from Marvel Universe like WandaVision in animated form? The battles and the effects would be epic. The Queen's Gambit would definitely be an anime focused on tournaments. And don't get me started on all of those Disney classics, how interesting it would be to see all of those princesses and others. Ah, if only they were real...

Thanks to artists like Brenni Murasaki, we have the opportunity to daydream about these sweet "what ifs," without them, maybe the idea wouldn't even cross our minds. So make sure you support her by following her Instagram, Facebook, or other social media linked above. The artist now has 22.7k followers on Instagram, so she's definitely on the come-up as an illustrator. But there's plenty more room in her social media to grow, so jump right in!

Even though this type of project is something that's been the most frequent in her recent portfolio, it's not her only bread and butter. Even though it's her go-to subject as of late, she also does commissions by people who keenly want to see their picture of choice done in style. And if you scroll down on her Instagram, you'll see tons of material that she's done in her own style. As she mentioned before, she's only been doing these anime transformations as a form of challenge and practice, and it's a very recent project.

Want to see more awesome transformations of popular characters from various types of universes? There's much to choose from on Bored Panda. For example, Hossein Diba goes the complete opposite direction and reimagines popular characters as real people. Alex Solis sticks to the original style, yet does transformations of characters in his own weird way, or reveals the "true" identities of various characters. And last but not least, there are artists like Abigail Diaz, who draws popular characters in her own distinctly unique style.
