IKEA Responds To Balenciaga’s $2,145 Bag That Looks Exactly Like IKEA’s 99-Cent Tote Bag, And It’s Hilarious

For those of you that don’t know, pricey fashion brand Balenciaga recently released a new bag. Worth $2,145. But that’s not the funniest part. No. The funniest part is that it bears a striking resemblance to another bag, namely IKEA’s iconic Frakta tote bag. You know, the big blue durable one that costs 99 cents.

Needless to say, the internet had a good laugh about the whole thing, but now IKEA has also joined in the fun by mocking Balenciaga’s new bag in their own special way. Enlisting the help of ACNE, a Stockholm-based Swedish creative agency, the furniture giant has released a hilarious advert that helps people to differentiate between IKEA’s original Frakta and Balenciaga’s expensive impostor. See for yourself below.

But at least Ikea's bag want originally intended to look fashionable. It was just a cheap way to haul all your c**p cuz the regular reusable shopping bags are a joke. You need like 20 of them to do the job of 1 blue Ikea bag

For any douche who would actually buy this...I also recommend the Caked on Mud Jeans at Nordstrom's for $450. OR you could get yourself an IKEA bag for $.99 cents and use the remainder to give 7 children in India their sight for $300 a pop! Just saying.

They do it because they know there are just enough dumb rich people that will buy it. It's just like the $3,700.00 blanket bag they have that looks like the bag a comforter set comes in.

From my understanding runway outfits are really just for the wow factor and to promote the designer...they didn't usually intend those designs to be worn as everyday clothes, but people started doing it anyway.

The story says the bag is worth $2,100.00, it more accurately should read that it sells for that much, what it is cost to make being leather is obviously substantially less, the name is what is worth the price to some people, a funny skit from a Scottish comedy show called chewin the fat has a designer take an ordinary plastic grocery bag and turn it into the must have item to wear on your head, but he searched high and low to find the exact bag that would work it was hilarious and showed the absurd lengths people will go to for a status symbol.

Someone asked, "What's wrong with people?" What's wrong is that people are stupid. The amount of money someone has to waste has no correlation to one's intelligence. I laugh hysterically every time I hear someone say that man is the only rational animal.

Those Frakta bags can be used for anything, they last forever. I think I have about 15 of them that get used for laundry, groceries, kids' toys, beach stuff, even automotive c**p. Best .99 cents you can spend. I am betting every rich person who can afford the Balenciaga will happily get one; just to be able to make the statement they can buy it and laugh at us peasants.

The price for that tote bag is completely ridiculous. I read an article about a guy that had a custom fully hand made expedition pack made out of leather, complete with brass buckles, a bunch of detachable pouches, the whole 9 yards. I mean this was a big pack with enough room to carry everything you would ever need it too, and I don't think he paid much more than 3k for it, and it was a one off custom pack that you could pass down to your Grand Kids if you took care of it. Some people have more money than sense.
