This series of cartoons makes a very valid point in a rather complex way. If people with physical ailments were treated in the same way that people with mental illness are treated, it would be... absurd. Which brings home the realization that all too often, the ways in which people with mental illness are treated (even by friends and loved ones) is... absurd. The argument here is strong, and the presentation rather delightful and a bit ticklish, IF the viewer gets it. Unfortunately, my inner cynic tells me that those who need to hear this message most are the least likely to comprehend how these cartoons assert their message. Ah, well. Nothing wrong with a little preaching to the choir sometimes. Affirmations...
