In the, "Yes ... But" fashion, I would say, "This is an impressive work but shouldn't we rather read them than burn or carve them?"

Bored Panda contacted the artist from the ‘Book Master’ team and asked a few questions about their work. We were curious about what inspired the project to focus on these unique book sculptures. They shared with us: “I have always been a big fan of art made from recycled objects. One day I saw a finished project and thought I must know how to do that. Initially, I started with simple things and over time, more and more complex.”

We were also wondering about how the creative process behind these complex designs works. Here’s what we found out: “I work on software such as Photoshop to draw my designs. Then I just use a ruler, pencil and chisel.”

The artist then shared more about how their work challenges the traditional perception of books and reading in today’s digital age: “Today, everything is digital, everything is connected. Many people no longer take the time to read a book, or even look at it. It's a way for me to give a second life to these, and it makes a lot of people react.”

Lastly, we asked the ‘Book Master’ artist to tell us what particular themes or messages they hope to convey through their sculptures. We learned that: “I work more and more on popular themes, on personalities who inspire me. And I also try to follow the news to prepare my projects.”
